The first trailer has been released for the upcoming CG animated musical feature film currently in production, DOROTHY OF OZ. The film will feature voiceovers by a host of Broadway veterans including Lea Michele as Dorothy Gale, Bernadette Peters as Glinda, Kelsey Grammer as Tin Man, Megan Hilty as China Princess, Hugh Dancy as Marshall Mallow, Patrick Stewart as Tugg and Martin Short as Jester. Hamlisch, one of only eleven EGOT winners in the history of the entertainment industry, was awarded three Oscars, four Grammys, four Emmys, a Tony and three Golden Globe awards for his work. On Broadway, he wrote the music for A Chorus Line - which received the Pulitzer Prize - as well as They're Playing Our Song, The Goodbye Girl and Sweet Smell of Success.

Disney has just released a trailer for Tim Burton's new stop-motion animation FRANKENWEENIE, set to be released in theaters on October 5th.

On Thursday, February 16, 2012 musical director Paul Shaffer made a musical cameo at GODSPELL. He joined the cast in singing 'Learn Your Lessons Well' and accompanied them on the piano. Watch the performance below!

The new, highly provocative TV commercial for this season's smash hit, SILENCE! The Musical, is set to being airing today on most major networks. SILENCE! The Musical, the unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs, with book by Hunter Bell, music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, and direction & choreography by Christopher Gattelli, opened July 9, 2011 to unanimous rave reviews. The show immediately became a sold-out phenomenon and was recently selected by Time Magazine as one of the year's Top 5 Musicals.

The show takes on a Christmas standard in the clip below, with a little help from Martin Short (who appeared on Broadway in THE GOODBYE GIRL, LITTLE ME and MARTIN SHORT: FAME BECOMES ME) and Jesse Eisenberg (who wrote and starred in Rattlestick's ASUNCION earlier this year). Check it out!

Broadway's WONDERLAND played its final performance this Sunday, May 15 at 3pm at the Marquis Theatre in front of a packed house including many Broadway notables. The show played 31 previews and 33 regular performances. WONDERLAND began previews Monday, March 21 and opened Sunday, April 17. The production will play a National tour. As we first reported earlier, at the curtain call the show's love story mixed with real life, as Darren Ritchie, who played Jack the White Knight proposed to his co-star, Janet Dacal, who played Alice. Darren proposed to Janet on stage right after the curtain call with the entire audience in the house. Janet screamed 'I said yes!' In the audience, there were tears of joy mixed with the sadness for the show closing. Now, the first videos are making their way onto YouTube!

McCarter Theatre presents Sleeping Beauty Wakes, a new musical featuring a book by Rachel Sheinkin (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), and a score by composer Brendan Milburn and lyricist Valerie Vigoda, both of the acclaimed trio GrooveLily. The production, which runs through June 5, is directed by Rebecca Taichman, who delighted McCarter audiences with her 2009 production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. The show had its opening night Friday, May 6. Following the McCarter run, the production will move to La Jolla Playhouse. Check out a sneak peek of the show below!
