DanceOn, the YouTube partnership channel exclusive to dance videos, released an inside look at the spectacular dancing in the world premiere of Newsies the Musical at the Paper Mill Playhouse. Cast members Jeremy Jordan, Andrew Keenan-Bolger and Evan Kasprzak of So You Think You Can Dance discuss Christopher Gattelli's athletic choreography and what it means to be in a cult classic. Plus hear from Christopher and Newsies director Jeff Calhoun about their triple threat cast. Newsises begins previews on September 15, 2011 and runs through October 16, 2011.

The cast of Paper Mill Playhouse's premiere of a new Disney stage musical, Newsies met the press yesterday, and BroadwayWorld was there for the event! Revolutionary newsie Jack Kelly will be portrayed by Jeremy Jordan of Broadway's West Side Story and Rock of Ages. Tony® Award nominee John Dossett will play newspaper giant Joseph Pulitzer. Featuring music by eight time Academy Award®-winning composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Sister Act, The Little Mermaid), lyrics by Jack Feldman and a new book by four-time Tony® Award winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage aux Folles, Torch Song Trilogy), Newsies is adapted for the stage from the live-action Disney feature film musical. The production is being directed at Paper Mill by Tony® nominee Jeff Calhoun (The Will Rogers Follies, Grey Gardens). The show begins performances on Thursday, September 15. Sara Chase joins Michel Weiner, and Darren Le Gallo returns this week, on Then we got HELP! Creator Julie Ann Emery (Hitch, 'Damages', 'Dexter') pulls a ‘Roseanne' by putting Chase in the role of Ashley, last season played by Broadway's Brandi Burkhardt, who was unavailable this season.

Jane Austen's Emma- A Musical Romantic Comedy with Music, Lyrics and Book by Paul Gordon and Directed and Choreographed by Jeff Calhoun runs through January 15, 2011 - March 6, 2011 at the Old Globe Theatre.
