What started out as a fun project during the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic quarantine on our private Facebook group evolved into something emotional, nostalgic, and uniquely unifying amidst a very dark and isolated period in humanity. Now, more than a decade after their closing night, 44 cast members of the Broadway revival of 'A Chorus Line' share what brought them all together 'again'. It was... 5, 6, 7, 8.

A five, six, seven, eight! The legendary original production of A Chorus Line celebrates the 44th anniversary of its opening night this week. In honor of the occasion, we're looking back at the opening of the show's revival featuring Tony Yazbeck, Jason Tam, Charlotte d'Amboise, and more! Virginia Musical Theatre will close out its 27th season with the Tony-winning 1999 revival of Cole Porter's Kiss Me, Kate, at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, April 27-29. The musical production blends the talents of William Shakespeare with the music of Porter to create one of the most chaotic, disruptive and enduring romances of all time on the stage. Kiss Me, Kate follows the embattled exes Fred Graham and Lilli Vanessi, and their onstage/offstage antics throughout a musical version of "The Taming of the Shrew," where Graham is Petruchio and Vanessi is Katharine. Add an ambitious showgirl, a Broadway hoofer who gambles often, and singing gangsters, and it's the perfect recipe for disaster. Featuring such classic songs as "Too Darn Hot," "Brush Up Your Shakespeare," "I Hate Men," "Another Op'nin', Another Show," and "Always True to You (In My Fashion)," Kiss Me, Kate is a real crowd-pleaser.

Florida is hot. Right? It's hot sand, hot sun...hot musical theatre talent? YOU BET!. We welcomed the FSU "'Noles" to Broadway Sessions recently to celebrate their tremendous theatre program. '17 grads took the stage alongside Broadway vets Heather Parcells, Harris Milgrim, Christiani Pitts, Michael Hunker, Jennifer Swiderski and Stephen Anthony! The results were, well…HOT! Florida, after all.

The Tony Awards aired last night on CBS (yeah yeah yeah, we know you know). The show was lovely and came at just the right moment, given all the horrific things happening in our world. We, at Broadway Sessions, got to celebrating last Thursday night as we welcomed Tony Award winner Daisy Eagan. We also celebrated the show that were "snubbed" with fabulous performances from Disaster's Olivia Phillip and Bway vet and Tuck Everlasting cast member Heather Parcells. Lion King and Ragtime vet DeMone Seraphin was also on hand to the delight of the fun loving crowd. "Rising Stars" Erin Christine Walsh, Julia Rose Hines and Daniel Joseph Baker knocked it out of the park. Enjoy the insanity here.

In 1916, King George V declared the May 20th 'Eliza Doolittle Day' (at least in the heroine's imagination, as she sings in MY FAIR LADY's Act I song 'Just You Wait'). Based on the 2003 film starring Will Ferrell, Elf has a book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin, music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Chad Beguelin. Elf will be directed by Eric Ankrim and choreographed by Josh Rhodes. Elf will run eight times a week at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey, from November 26, 2014, through January 4, 2015. After a sold-out first edition, Broadway's best writers and performers teamed together again to help raise funds for children with special needs in New York City and around the world. Victor Legra, Anthony Crouchelli & M.O.V.E for Autism presented 'Putting the Pieces Together: Volume 2' featuring the music of Carner and Gregor, Rosser and Sohne, Maglione and Ruiz, Joey Contreras, Justin Anthony Long, Jonathan Lee & Joanna Burns; David Dabbon, and Will Van Dyke. Paper Mill Playhouse will open Boeing-Boeing, directed by James Brennan, this Sunday, January 22, 2012. The cast features: Anne Horak (Gretchen), Brynn O'Malley (Gabriella), Heather Parcells (Gloria), John Scherer (Robert), Matt Walton (Bernard) and Tony® Award-winner Beth Leavel (Berthe). The show began performances on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, and runs at the Millburn theater through Sunday, February 12, 2012. Broadway's WONDERLAND played its final performance this Sunday, May 15 at 3pm at the Marquis Theatre in front of a packed house including many Broadway notables. The show played 31 previews and 33 regular performances. WONDERLAND began previews Monday, March 21 and opened Sunday, April 17. The production will play a National tour. As we first reported earlier, at the curtain call the show's love story mixed with real life, as Darren Ritchie, who played Jack the White Knight proposed to his co-star, Janet Dacal, who played Alice. Darren proposed to Janet on stage right after the curtain call with the entire audience in the house. Janet screamed 'I said yes!' In the audience, there were tears of joy mixed with the sadness for the show closing. Now, the first videos are making their way onto YouTube!
