Rewind to 2008 when the Broadway cast of Rent took BroadwayWorld behind the scenes!

The Life, directed and adapted by Billy Porter, is getting ready to begin performances at City Center Encores! this week. The production stars Jelani Alladin as Lou, Alexandra Grey as Queen, Antwayn Hopper as Memphis, Grammy nominee Mykal Kilgore as Young JoJo, Grammy Award winner Ledisi as Sonja, Erika Olson as Mary, Destan Owens as Old Jojo, and Ken Robinson as Fleetwood. Performances run March 16-20, 2022.

Tony and Grammy award-nominated Michael McElroy and Broadway Inspirational Voices released the eighth video in their 'Broadway Our Way' series today, offering 'Love to Me' from the musical Light In the Piazza, music and lyrics by Adam Guettel (Millions; Floyd Collins; Saturn Returns/Myths and Hymns). Check it out below!

On Sunday September 7, 2008 the curtain fell on Broadway for the final performance of the landmark musical Rent. In celebration of this production going out in 'one blaze of glory', BWW TV spoke with Will Chase about the power of Jonathan Larson's words and music and how its message of love will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of the people it touched.

On September 7, 2008 the curtain will fall on Broadway for the final performance of Rent. In celebration of the show and its history making run, we gave the cast a portable FLIP video camera so they could give us their view of life backstage. As they were able to film themselves, the FLIP video footage allows you to see and hear Rent from the actor's unique perspective.
