The genre is noted for its dark, disturbing sensibility of intractable fatalism that Paris existentialists discovered in American film during the 1940’s. Noir continues to run as a mesmerizing, mysterious current through modern movies and music, and Errico has embraced it in her own artistic endeavors.

Now, the two are reuniting to sing a song from the new musical. Boggess writes: 'This song expresses both lyrically and musically what is in our souls right now. Therefore, we wanted to debut this song in this way for all to hear too.'

Above the Elgin Theatre in Toronto on the 4th floor, magical things are happening. A company with 70 Tony Award nominations and 12 wins between them are gearing up to premiere a new musical, Sousatzka, based on the 1988 Shirley MacLaine film Madame Sousatzka. At the helm of the project, notorious theatre impresario Garth Drabinsky - who is making his comeback to 'artistic producing' following his convictions for fraud and forgery during his time as the head of Livent. Livent, of course, was once a division of Cineplex Odeon which produced the Sousatzka film before being bought out by Drabinsky and his then business partner Myron Gottlieb.

Today in 1983, Baby opened at the Ethel barrymore Theatre, where it ran for 241 performances. Baby is a musical with a book by Sybille Pearson, based on a story developed with Susan Yankowitz, music by David Shire, and lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr.. It concerns the reactions of three couples each expecting a child. Lizzie and Danny are university juniors who have just moved in together. Athletic Pam and her husband, Nick, a sports instructor, have had some trouble conceiving. Arlene, already the mother of three grown daughters, is unsure of what to do, contemplating abortion while her husband Alan is thrilled with the thought of a new baby. Throughout the show, these characters experience the emotional stresses and triumphs, the desperate lows and the comic highs, that accompany the anticipation and arrival of a baby.

The World Premiere Musical WATERFALL is set in Bangkok and Tokyo between the turbulent years of 1933 and 1939, as a monarchy falls in Thailand and Japan is on the brink of war.  A young Thai student named Noppon (Thai superstar Bie Sukrit) falls in love with Katherine (Emily Padgett, 2014 Broadway Revival of Side Show), the American wife of a Thai diplomat, and the story of their forbidden love parallels history as the new democracy of Siam moves into the vortex of Japan prior to WWII. With a gloriously romantic score from Tony Award-winner Richard Maltby Jr. (Miss Saigon) and Academy Award-winner David Shire,WATERFALL is a modern love story of timeless scale.
