Opening in theaters and VOD today, September 26, is DAYS AND NIGHTS - Brodway veteran Christian Camargo's directorial debut, inspired by Anton Chekhov's The Seagull. Set in rural New England in the 1980s, the film stars a slew of Broadway favorites, including Allison Janney, Cherry Jones, Mark Rylance and more. Real-life mother and son Tony and Emmy Award nominee Kate Burton (The Corn is Green, The Cherry Orchard, Hedda Gabler at the Huntington) and Morgan Ritchie (The Corn Is Green) play mother and son onstage together for the first time when they return to the Huntington Theatre Company for a lush new production of Anton Chekhov's passionate classic The Seagull. Huntington favorite Maria Aitken (The Cocktail Hour, Betrayal) will direct the Paul Schmidt translation of the classic of world drama about love, missed connections, and what it means to be an artist. Performances of The Seagull continue at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre through April 6, 2014 at the BU Theatre. The Public Theater first fell in love with the work of Chilean writer-director Guillermo Calderón when his play, Diciembre was performed at Under the Radar 2011. This spring, the theater has invited him back as part of its regular season for the English Language Premiere of his new play, NEVA (March 1 -31). WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced a special Cabaret evening of Homemade Fusion, a concert of songs by Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond. Homemade Fusion will be presented at WaterTower Theatre Friday, August 12 and 19 following the performance of Little Shop of Horrors, in association with Greyman Theatre Company. The performances will take place in the Addison Theatre Centre's upper lobby performance space at 10:30 pm. Admission is free. A cash bar will be available for both performances. Acclaimed film and stage actors Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard have joined the cast of Classic Stage Company's upcoming new production of Anton Chekhov's UNCLE VANYA, starring Tony Award winner Denis O'Hare as Vanya, and directed by Austin Pendleton, it was announced today by CSC Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Jessica R. Jenen. UNCLE VANYA will begin previews on Saturday, January 17 at Classic Stage Company at 136 East 13th Street. An official press opening date will be announced in the coming weeks. UNCLE VANYA will play a limited engagement through March 1, 2009.
