New production footage has been released today of the company of My Fair Lady. The company features Harry Hadden-Paton as Henry Higgins, Amara Okereke as Eliza Doolittle, Stephen K Amos as Alfred P Doolittle, Dame Vanessa Redgrave as Mrs Higgins, Malcolm Sinclair as Colonel Pickering, Maureen Beattie as Mrs Pearce, and Sharif Afifi as Freddy Eynsford-Hill.

Performing these Lerner and Loewe classics are Tony Award nominee Jenn Colella (Come From Away); Aaron Lazar; Jose Llana (The King and I); Michael Maliakel (Aladdin); Aisha Jackson (Frozen); Sean Thompson (Sunset Boulevard); and Bayla Whitten (West End’s Les Misérables). The third installment of Encores! Inside the Revival features director Victoria Clark, Encores! Music Director Rob Berman and Consulting Producer for Musical Theater, and previous Encores! Artistic Director Jack Viertel as they revisit, Love Life a year later and discuss their process of imagining Kurt Weill and Alan Jay Lerner’s rarely seen 1948 musical.

Today we rewind to 2015, when the first revival of Gigi arrived on Broadway. The musical opened on April 8 at the Neil Simon Theatre, where it ran for 86 performances. 

Today we rewind to 2017, for the New York City Center gala presentation of Brigadoon. Featuring a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, and music by Frederick Loewe, the musical is about two American tourists who stumble upon Brigadoon, a mysterious Scottish village that appears for only one day every 100 years.

Mark William, two time BroadwayWorld Cabaret Award winner, guest starred on The Clint Edwards Show. The renowned composer/ arranger along with bassist Sam Zerna joined Mark William in creating a virtual music video of the classic Alan Jay Lerner and Burton Lane song ' On A Clear Day' from three different parts of the country.

Few people seem to be familiar with Lerner & Loewe's Paint Your Wagon. Those who are usually mention the 1969 film of the same title, starring Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood, known for being a ridiculously miscast and embarrassingly terrible flop. The musical, which originally appeared on Broadway in 1951, is similarly messy, and has gone pretty much unproduced for decades. Fortunately, however, playwright Jon Marans has redrafted the book, top-to-bottom, enhancing both the story line and its characters, and the result is a shiny-new masterpiece with new orchestrations and new dance and vocal arrangements. It is now an entirely enjoyable musical, complex in its structure, with an interesting setting, compelling plot, nuanced layers, appropriate social commentary, and characters...
