Actors' Equity Association ('AEA' or Equity) yesterday announced that PIPPIN received the seventh annual 'ACCA' Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. Presented by Equity's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA), the ACCA Award is the only industry accolade of its kind to honor the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical.

For much of the month of August, Tovah Feldshuh (Irena's Vow, Golda's Balcony) has played the role of 'Berthe', filling in while two-time Tony Award winner Andrea Martin was on vacation. Martin returns to the role full-time tonight, August 27. PIPPIN is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

The legendary Betty Buckley went backstage last night at the Music Box Theatre to visit fellow actress Tovah Feldshuh, who's currently subbing for Andrea Martin as 'Berthe' in the Tony-winning revival of PIPPIN. Along with the photo below, Buckley posted to her Instagram: 'Tovah Feldshuh & me after her fabulous performance on the trapeze as Berthe in 'Pippin'. Note Tovah's 'guns'. Second time to see the show. I love it so!'

The producers of the Tony Award winning new Broadway production of PIPPIN have announced that four-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh (Irena's Vow, Golda's Balcony) will play the role of 'Berthe' on Friday, August 9 through Sunday, August 11 and Tuesday, August 20 through Sunday, August 25 while two-time Tony Award winner Andrea Martin is on vacation. Ms. Martin returns to the role full-time on Tuesday, August 27. PIPPIN is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's beloved coming-of-age musical comedy Pippin began performances on Saturday, March 23 at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). This all new production is directed by Diane Paulus featuring choreography by Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse and circus creation by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (also known as 7 Fingers). The Music Box Theatre will soon be home to the American Repertory Theatre production of Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's Pippin, directed by Diane Paulus. The cast features Matthew James Thomas as Pippin, Tony and Olivier Award nominee Patina Miller as Leading Player, Tony Award nominee Terrence Mann as Charles, Tony Award nominee Charlotte d'Amboise as Fastrada, Rachel Bay Jones as Catherine and Tony Award winner Andrea Martin as Berthe. Other members of the company include Erik Altemus as Lewis, Gregory Arsenal, Andrew Cekala, Lolita Costet, Colin Cunliffe, Andrew Fitch, Orion Griffiths, Viktoria Grimmy, Olga Karmansky, Bethany Moore, Brad Musgrove, Stephanie Pope, Philip Rosenberg, YanNick Thomas, Molly Tynes, Anthony Wayne. The cast of Pippin will have magic to do at the Music Box Theatre, with preview performances beginning Saturday, March 23, 2013 and opening night on Thursday, April 25, 2013. Producers Barry & Fran Weissler and Howard & Janet Kagan have announced casting for Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's PIPPIN, directed by Diane Paulus. PIPPIN will begin preview performances on Broadway Saturday, March 23, 2013 and officially open Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Music Box Theatre. The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) today announced that casting has been completed for its production of Pippin, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Roger O. Hirson, directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus. Previews begin at the Loeb Drama Center (64 Brattle Street, Cambridge) on December 5, with press opening on January 3, and running through January 20, 2013. Tickets will go on sale on October 23, the 40th Anniversary of the opening of Pippin on Broadway.
