Nylon Fusion Theatre to Debut MARINA and MATA HARI at Planet Connections, 6/15 by BWW News Desk - Jun 14, 2013
Nylon Fusion Theatre Company presents two world-premiere one-act works by Don Nigro Marina and Mata Hari, at Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, about two women who bravely faced personal battles as they were caught up in the turmoil of the two world wars. Directed by Ivette Dumeng, and starring Tatyana Kot in the title roles, with Curtis James Nielsen, Marina and Mata Hari will be performed together at the Robert Moss Theatre at 440 Lafayette Street beginning tomorrow, June 15th. On Monday, March 4, 2013 Young Audiences New York celebrated 60 years of providing arts education programs to students in grades pre-k through 12 across all five New York City boroughs at its annual Children's Arts Award Benefit. Vassar's Mathematics Department in cooperation with the Drama Department presents one performance only of the award-winning hit solo show, Truth Values. One Girl's Romp Through M.I.T.'s Male Math Maze, tonight, September 14, at 7:00pm in the Martel Theater of the Vogelstein Center for Drama and Film. Free and open to the public, Truth Values, a project of Unexpected Theater, is written and performed by Gioia De Cari and directed by Miriam Eusebio. GRACE NOTES & ANVILS is a gentle, funny and deeply touching guided-tour of a "place" most Americans go to, but few feel free to talk about. Based on their book "About Grief: Insights, Setbacks, Grace Notes, Taboos," writers Ron Marasco and Brian Shuff use the intimacy of theatre to explore the heartbreak, everyday heroism and surprising hilarity connected with loss. Directed by Marasco, the production features Marasco along with a series of alternating notable guest actors. Current guest stars are Jonelle Allen & Brandon Barash, July 11 - July 15 and to be featured are Mariette Hartley & Karl Glusman, July 19 - July 22, and Brenda Strong & Brandon Barash, July 27 - July 29. Terry Martin, Mark Fleischer, René Moreno to Direct WaterTower Theatre's 2012-13 Season Shows by BWW News Desk - Jun 20, 2012
WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced the directors for the Company's 2012-2013 Main Stage season at the Addison Theatre Centre. Directing the season opener, The Mystery of Irma Vep (September 28 - October 21, 2012) will be Terry Martin. It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play (November 23 - December 16, 2012) will be directed by Mark Fleischer. Black Tie (May 31 - June 23, 2013) will be directed by Rene Moreno. As previously announced, Putting It Together (January 11 - February 3, 2013) and The Grapes of Wrath (April 5-28, 2013), will be directed by Terry Martin. The director for Xanadu (July 26 - August 18, 2013) will be announced at a later date. (more...)

Frankie Avalon, Fabian and Bobby Rydell Set for 'The Golden Boys' Concert, 2/18 by BWW

In 1985, three former teen idols-all from the same Philadelphia neighborhood-teamed for a concert titled The Golden Boys, which not only satisfied fans from their teen era by performing their hits, but illustrated that good singing and stage presence never go out of style. Frankie Avalon, Fabian & Bobby Rydell, "The Golden Boys" from American Bandstand's heyday, have appeared together on such major TV specials as "The American Music Awards," the closing ceremonies of the "Miss Liberty Special" (viewed by over 200 million people) and the ABC Inaugural special "Command Performance: An All-Star Salute To The President."
