Rattlestick to Present Jessica Dickey's CHARLES IVES TAKE ME HOME, 5/29-6/29

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere ofCharles Ives Take Me Home, written by Jessica Dickey and directed by Daniella Topol. Charles Ives Take Me Home will begin performances on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater at 224 Waverly Place. The official opening night is set forThursday, June 13 at 7pm. The Colony Theatre Company has announced its 2012 - 2013 season of shows. In this, its 38th season, the multi-Ovation Award-winning theatre company, for the first time in its history, will be bringing its subscribers and audiences six World, West Coast or Los Angeles premiere shows. The season includes a world premiere musical that looks at the life of lyricist Lorenz Hart - to a smack-down of biblical proportions in Savannah, Georgia; From a Hitchcock-ian style thriller to a behind-the-scenes look at a non-profit theatre; throw in a legendary Stradivarius violin and some Fiestaware and you have one of the company's most exciting seasons ever. Primary Stages continues their 28th season with the 20th anniversary revival of All in the Timing by David Ives. Opening night is Tuesday, February 12. Directed by Tony Award-winner John Rando (Urinetown; A Christmas Story, The Musical),the production features Eric Clem (Blue Man Group), Carson Elrod (Peter and the Starcatcher), Jenn Harris (Silence! The Musical), Liv Rooth (Venus in Fur), and Matthew Saldivar (Peter and the Starcatcher). All in the Timing runs through March 17 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters. The Colony Theatre's THE MORINI STRAD Opens on Schedule Tonight

The Colony Theatre previously announced that it has achieved the first goal of its emergency "Save the Colony" campaign by raising $49,000 in ten days so that it can open THE MORINI STRAD as scheduled tonight, November 17th. However, the award-winning theatre company still must raise $500,000 by year's end to continue serving the region. (more...)

Burbank's Colony Theatre Launches Emergency 'Save the Colony' Campaign

According to Steve Julian, The Colony Theatre in Burbank, Calif., has just announced an emergency 'Save the Colony' campaign in order to remain open. Founded in 1975, the theatre has been producing shows for 37 years. The Colony must raise $49,000 in less than two weeks, plus $500,000, including pledges, by the end of the year to stay afloat. Now in its final week, the New York premiere of The Morini Strad by Willy Holtzman will conclude its limited engagement at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters on Saturday, April 28. The final production of Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Elliot Fox, Managing Director) 27th season, The Morini Strad is directed by Casey Childs, and features Michael Laurence (Krapp39, Broadway's Talk Radio, Opus at Primary Stages), Tony® nominee Mary Beth Peil ("The Good Wife," "Dawson's Creek," Follies, The King and I), and celebrated violin soloist Hanah Stuart (Chicago Symphony, Zankel Hall).
