Katrina Lenk will join the cast of the 8-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical ONCE at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre beginning Tuesday, May 7. Ms. Lenk will take over the role of 'Reza' from Claire Wellen, who, as planned, was playing the role temporarily. (more...)

William Russo Named ART's Managing Director

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University has announced today that William Russo will join the institution as its new Managing Director, effective this July. Russo, who currently serves as the Managing Director of New York Theatre Workshop, will partner with A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus to manage the $13 million non-profit theater. (more...)

Arthur Darvill and Joanna Christie will make their Broadway debuts starring in the 8-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical ONCE at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre beginning Tuesday, April 23rd. The actors will take over from the temporary leads Ben Hope and Laura Dreyfuss, who, as planned and scheduled, will resume being standbys for 'Guy' and 'Girl.' (more...)

SONTAG: REBORN to Play NYTW, Beginning 5/28

Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that Sontag: Reborn, based on the books by Susan Sontag and edited by David Rieff, adapted and performed by Moe Angelos, directed by Marianne Weems, and produced in collaboration with The Builders Association, will begin performances Tuesday, May 28 at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Opening night is set for Thursday, June 6 at 7pm. Sontag: Reborn is scheduled to run through Sunday, June 30. (more...)

ONCE Celebrates First Anniversary on Broadway Tomorrow

ONCE, winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and the 2013 Grammy Award, celebrates its first Anniversary with a special encore performance and cake after the matinee tomorrow, Wednesday, March 20 (the actual date of the 1st Anniversary was Monday, March 18 but the show was dark). The production, based on the 2007 Academy Award-winning film, opened to rave reviews on Sunday, March 18, 2012 and is playing at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, 242 West 45th Street. (more...)

Beginning Tuesday, March 26, Ben Hope will play the role of 'Guy,' Laura Dreyfuss will play the role of 'Girl,' Carlos Valdes will play the role of 'Andrej' and Claire Wellin will play the role of 'Reza.' New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo just announced that its 2013-2014 subscriber season will include What's It All About? Bacharach Reimagined, with musical arrangements by Kyle Riabko and directed by Steven Hoggett; Fetch Clay, Make Man written by Will Power and directed by Des McAnuff; and Love and Information written by Caryl Churchill and directed by James Macdonald. In the coming weeks NYTW will announce an additional production that will round out the season. (more...)
