Coronado Playhouse concludes its 2017 Season with Fly By Night, opening Friday, November 10th and running until Sunday, December 10th, 2017 at Coronado Playhouse. San Diego's favorite Theatre Photographer paid the Playhouse a visit and captured some beautiful moments from the production which opens this weekend. As societies in post-apocalyptic stories go, the one envisioned by playwright Zoe Kazan in her insightful relationship drama AFTER THE BLAST, seems to have it pretty good.

AFTER THE BLAST opened last night, October 23, and will run for six weeks only through Sunday, November 19 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). BroadwayWorld has photos from the opening festivities below!

In Pulitzer Prize-winner Stephen Adly Guirgis' darkly comic meditation on redemption and faith, Angel Cruz a 30-year-old bicycle messenger awaits his trial for the death of a religious cult leader. Inside Riker's Island, a charismatic serial killer named Lucius Jenkins befriends a terrified Angel. Lucius has found God and been born again. As his attorney, a disillusioned but talented public defender, and Lucius work separately to "save" Angel, his life and the course of his trial will be changed forever.

Cristin Milioti's career has spanned film, television, theater, and music. Though I, personally, know her work solely from her season on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, I had heard of the roles she originated in both ONCE on Broadway, as well as David Bowie & Enda Walsh's LAZARUS at New York Theatre Workshop. So when I went to her concert at Joe's Pub on August 17, I had no doubt that I was in for a virtuosic performance of sorts.

Dallas Theater Center will host a curated conversation featuring insights into the world-premiere play Miller, Mississippi on Aug. 21 at the Beckley-Saner Recreation Center, located at 114 W Hobson Ave., Dallas, Texas 75224. In a moderated panel discussion, Diane and Hal Brierley Resident Acting Company members Alex Organ and Liz Mikel will discuss their experiences, and how they have informed their approach to the characters they portray in Miller, Mississippi. Moderated by Amber Sims, this conversation will address advantage and what happens 'when tradition is sacred, and change is slow'. A reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. with food donated by Babe's Chicken Dinner House, followed by the conversation at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
