American Blues Theater Announces Cast For FLYIN' WEST

American Blues Theater announces the cast for its 2018-2019 season opener, Flyin' West, written by Pearl Cleage and directed by Artistic Affiliate Chuck Smith. Flyin' West features Sydney Charles (Fannie Dove), Wardell Julius Clark (Frank Charles), Tiffany Renee Johnson (Minnie Renee Johnson), Joslyn Jones (Miss Leah), Tiffany Oglesby (Sophie Washington) and Henri Watkins (Wil Parish).

Jackalope Theatre Announces 2018-19 Season

Jackalope Theatre Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Gus Menary and Managing Director Nora Leahy, announces its 2018/19 season. The company's 11th season features two world-premiere productions and a Midwest-Premiere. The season begins with the world premiere of In The Canyon by Jackalope Theatre company member Calamity West, directed by Elly Green, then continues with the midwest premiere of Dutch Masters by Greg Keller, directed by Wardell Julius Clark, and concludes with the world premiere of Life On Paper by Kenneth Lin, directed by Jackalope Artistic Director, Gus Menary.

The play, written by Robert O'Hara, tells the story of a Ron, a young African-American man who trying to complete his grad school thesis on Nat Turner's Slave Rebellion. Aided by his great-great grandfather, he travels 189 years back in time to meet Nat in person. This journey forces Ron to confront his identity, his sexuality, and his family history.
