Yesterday, May 23, the company of Godspell celebrated their Academy Award-winning writer Stephen Schwartz in a one-night-only concert featuring songs from Schwartz's Pippin, Wicked, The Baker’s Wife, The Magic Show, Working, My Son Pinocchio, Children of Eden, Rags, “Pocahontas”, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”, “The Prince of Egypt”, “Enchanted” and more. BroadwayWorld has confirmed that the revival of GODSPELL on Broadway, despite a lack of Tony nominations, will make an appearance on the 2012 broadcast to perform a selection from the musical. At this time, there is no official word or confirmation on who, or what the cast will be performing. (more...)

Hundreds of hopeful actors, ages 6 to 16, showed up at the Circle in the Square Theatre today, April 25, to audition for the Broadway musical GODSPELL. The audition panel, including director Daniel Goldstein, is looking to fill 10 roles in the show. About 300 kids, including Holly Block, Gaten Matarazzo and Ellis Gage, who are featured in the video below, performed 16 measures of music for the panel. (more...)

Last night at the Circle in the Square Theatre, Broadway and "Weeds" star Hunter Parrish ended his run as Jesus in the first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's GODSPELL.
