Dance Theatre Piece POOR LIZA Comes to New York and Boston in June

One of Russias most famous actressses, Chulpan Khamatova, along with Bolshoi Theater soloist Andrei Merkuriev, will play for audiences in New York and Boston with POOR LIZA, based on the novel by Nikolay Karamzin. This envelope-pushing choreographed theatrical performance was dreamt up by lauded choreographer Alla Sigalova and composer Leonid Desyatnikov, and produced by Russias Theatre of Nations. Jonah Bokaer's CURTAIN Comes to France's Avignon Festival, 7/20; MA's Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, 8/1

Jonah Bokaer, who has been making artistic waves on the international dance circuit since he began choreographing almost ten years ago, will be seen both close-up and afar in these coming months: outdoors at the Avignon Festival in France (July 2022, 2426) and indoors at the Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival in Becket, MA (August 15) when he and Bolshoi Ballet star David Hallberg perform together in the world premiere of Bokaers CURTAIN. Introdans Makes US Debut at the Joyce Theatre, 5/1-6

While Introdans is one of The Netherlands three national dance companies, it is the only one that has never performed in the United States. This will be rectified on May 1-6 when the company makes its U.S. debut at the Joyce Theater with Heavenly, a program featuring premieres by Nils Christe, Ed Wubbe and Gisela Rocha. The Joyce engagement is part of the companys 40th anniversary worldwide celebration.

After years of development, Clyde 'n Bonnie: A Folktale premiered in suburban Atlanta at Aurora Theatre on March 15. Aurora Theatre first encountered the show in 2009 at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, the annual showcase of potential Broadway hits, like the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning Next to Normal. Clyde n Bonnie is the musical brainchild of Broadway stars Hunter Foster and Rick Crom.
