Photo Coverage: Inside the 2013 CHOREOGRAPHER'S CANVAS by Jessica Gordon - May 29, 2013
The Group Theatre Too (GTT) recently presented its sixth annual Choreographer's Canvas, a one-night event featuring the works of over fifteen established and emerging choreographers from around the country. The Canvas, headed by GTT Executive Producer Justin Boccitto, played at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center on Saturday May 18th and showcased many styles of dance including tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, theatre dance, aerial and this year swing dance. For the past 6 years the Canvas has presented over 65 choreographers, giving opportunity to over 450 dancers performing to sold houses. Check out photos from the event below! (more...)

Legendary Latin/jazz percussionist Jack 'Mr. Bongo' Costanzo has only performed twice in New York City in the last 60 years--once at Carnegie Hall in 1948 and once at the famed Basin Street East in 1961--but he'll make a rare NYC appearance October 30 at The Iridium to perform with cabaret favorite Terese Genecco & Her Little Big Band featuring Ricky Ritzel. Justin Boccitto and The Group Theatre Too are currently seeking choreographers for the annual Choreographer's Canvas taking place on May 18th of 2013 at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center. Now it's sixth year, the Canvas is a showcase opportunity for choreographers to present their work in an Off-Broadway venue in Manhattan. All styles of dance will be considered and featured in the Canvas including but not limited to tap, jazz, theatre dance, contemporary, hip-hop, modern, ballet, lyrical, aerial, flamenco, Bollywood, etc. (more...)

BroadwayWorld.com shared the sad news last night, July 12th that Tony Stevens, performer, director and choreographer had passed away at 63. We just received a statement from Chita Rivera on his passing which reads that'A huge part of me has left...gone to light the heavens for us as he did on earth. I carry Tony with me.
