With the awards ceremony currently in progress, director/choreographer Rob Ashford has just been announced as the winner of a Creative Arts Emmy Award for 'Outstanding Choreography' for his work on the 'Musicals Are Back' segment of the 81st Annual Academy Awards.

On this morning's episode of LIVE! with Regis and Kelly, star Michael Douglas confirmed the many recent reports and rumors that his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, will indeed star in the upcoming fall revival of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC.

Variety gave a roundup this weekend of the many projects on the currently very hot director, Rob Ashford who's currently working on the upcoming Los Angeles production of Parade, which he will follow with preparations for a Spring debut of the highly anticipated Broadway revival of Promises, Promises.

'Parade,' which features T.R. Knight playing the historical figure Leo Frank and Lara Pulver reprising her role as his wife, Lucille Frank, started rehearsals this week. The Center Theatre Group's presentation of the Donmar Warehouse production begins previews September 24, 2009, and will open at the Mark Taper Forum on October 4. Performances continue through November 15.

Paris' Théâtre du Châtelet has announced via their website that Kristin Scott Thomas will play Desiree Armfeldt and Leslie Caron will play Madame Armfeldt in Jonathan Stockhammer's upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's A Little Night Music.

The Broadway revival of 'A Little Night Music' is expected to go into a Jujamcyn theater this fall, according to a NY Times story. The paper reports that an announcement will soon be released with details of the production.

A revival of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC is headed for Broadway. The production will be directed by Tony Award-winner Trevor Nunn, and will utilize the creative team behind the recent London production, which opened at the Menier Chocolate Factory before transferring to the Garrick Theatre on December 3, 2008. The new Broadway revival 'rehearses in October 2009. Opens in December. Dates tentative,' according to a recent Equity casting announcement.

In The Moment Productions presents MELANIE REY in 'A LIFE…A BROAD' (Mi Vida En Jira) at The Greenwich Street Theatre, 547 Greenwich Street (between Charlton and Vandam Streets) in West Soho, beginning January 31st for an open-ended Off-Broadway engagement.
