TOM GOLD DANCE to Perform at the Guggenheim Museum in June

Tom Gold Dance will perform as part of the Guggenheims Works and Process series on June 2nd and 3rd @ 7:30pm. In this interdisciplinary presentation that combines performing arts and science, New York Botanical Garden curator Dr. Michael Balick uses excerpts from theatrical performances to discuss the healing and harmful properties of plants and the use of plant-based remedies and poisons. Tom Gold Dance has been invited to be a part of the DANCERS RESPONDING TO AIDS, the eighth edition of Dance from the Heart as some of the most diverse dancers and choreographers working today come together to showcase their artistry and support DRA. This evening will be filled with dance from Broadway and hip-hop to contemporary ballet and modern. Dance from the Heart returns to New York City Tonight - Monday, January 28 and tomorrow Tuesday, January 29, 2013 with shows at 6:30pm & 8:30pm each night at Cedar Lake Theater, 547 W. 26th Street in Manhattan's West Chelsea Historic District. The exciting benefit will feature performances by more than a dozen of the most diverse dancers, dance companies and choreographers working today. Dance from the Heart will present a different program of performances for each night (see schedule below), a poignant anti-bullying number danced by teenagers and the world premiere of a piece choreographed by American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Marcelo Gomes. The cast of internationally-acclaimed dance stars appearing in BalletMet's Global Dance Stars Gala is now complete. Artists from Boston Ballet, Houston Ballet, National Ballet of Canada, New York City Ballet, Northern Ballet of England, Tom Gold Dance and Broadway will join the talented dancers of BalletMet for this one-night-only event tonight, August 18th at the Ohio Theatre (39 East State Street).
