Huntington Beach APA Wins 10 National Youth Arts Awards; Ceremony Set for 6/17 by BWW News Desk - Jun 10, 2012
The Academy for the Performing Arts leads the way with the most wins for the Seventh Annual National Youth Arts Awards for the 2011-2012 season in its area. APA earned 10 awards and 12 additional nominations. This is for the California Region which includes Orange County, Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. (more...)

Huntington Beach APA's Elizabeth Romero, DAMN YANKEES Honored Last Weekend by BWW News Desk - May 01, 2012
Huntington Beach High School and Academy for the Performing Arts senior Elizabeth Romero won the Spotlight competition for non-classical voice after performing at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Saturday night in their annual event, hosted by Broadway star Ben Vereen. Selected as one of eight award winners out of 2300 students from 400 schools, Elizabeth will receive a $5,000 cash scholarship. In other news, HB APA's production of Damn Yankees soared in performance at the John Raitt Awards in Fullerton on Sunday. (more...)

Last night, November 14, The Williamstown Theatre Festival honored the Festival's renowned Training Programs at its Annual Benefit, 'We The Future' at the Edison Ballroom in New York City. The evening, hosted by Award-winning comedian (and Williamstown veteran) Lewis Black, featured former WTF alumni Tony Goldwyn (Promises, Promises; 1981 Non-Equity Company), Kathryn Hahn (Revolutionary Road, 1997 Non-Equity Company) and Constantine Maroulis ('American Idol,' 2002 WTF Apprentice), performing with members of the 2011 Apprentice and Non-Equity companies.
