Noche de Cine, part of Gustavo Dudamel's signature festival, Americas & Americans, celebrates film composers from North and South America featuring film clips and scores performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, led by Dudamel. The program features a suite from Libertador - Dudamel's first feature-length film score; and Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla will perform with a suite from his Motorcycle Diaries score.

The New York Philharmonic will present Pixar in Concert, a program illustrating Pixar's mastery of film scoring to underscore its celebrated storytelling. Clips from all 14 Pixar films released to date - the Toy Story trilogy; A Bug's Life; Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University; Finding Nemo; The Incredibles; Cars and Cars 2; Ratatouille; Wall·E; UP; and Brave - will be screened as the Orchestra performs the music live, led by film composer and conductor David Newman. The concerts take place tonight, May 1, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, May 2 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, May 3 at 8:00 p.m.

River Oaks Chamber Orchestra (ROCO) celebrates its 10th Anniversary Season in 2014 - 2015 with the announcement of nine more world premiere commissions, a whole new concert series, new names for its existing series and the return of some its most revered musicians and collaborators. The season is titled Great Expectations 'because it refers to the high expectations we have had for ROCO since inception,' said Alecia Lawyer, ROCO Founder and Artistic Director, 'and the higher goals we have set for ourselves in our second decade.' The title also refers to a number of literary themes that will run throughout much of the season.

After performing nationwide in 2012-13 throughout the U.S. and Canada, LIAISONS: Re-Imagining Sondheim from the Piano featuring internationally renowned contemporary pianist Anthony de Mare comes to the Mondavi Center for two nights only March 29 (8:00om) and 30 (2:00pm). Based on the music of the legendary composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim, LIAISONS is an intrepid program of new, solo piano works by some of the world's foremost contemporary composers - this marks the first time that Sondheim songs have ever been re-imagined for solo piano. Commissioned purely for this landmark project, composers from the realms of classical, jazz, film, pop, musical theater, opera and avant-garde music have come together to pay homage to Sondheim, whose music has dominated American musical theater for the past four decades. LIAISONS' 2012-13 nationwide tour has made stops in San Francisco, New York City, Fort Worth, and Hudson Opera House, to name a few, and will continue throughout 2014.
