While the theatre community is working towards reopening, the South Florida Theatre League will aid the process through multiple professional development opportunities aimed at long term sustainability in the arts.

The casts and creative teams have been assembled for Zoetic Stage’s inaugural Finstrom Festival of New Work which will be presented virtually from June 23rd thru 27th, on the theatre company’s Facebook page.

The winners of the Finstrom Festival of New Work are Finding Neil Patrick Harris by Donna Hoke, The Guilt Mongers or Los Traficantes de Culpa (for those not willing to submit to the Anglicization of our people) by C. Julian Jiménez, The Equivalent of Sensation by Arianna Rose, One-Shot by Andrew Rosendorf and Baby Camp by Nandita Shenoy.

Broadway productions are returning to Pueblo's Memorial Hall beginning November 14.

Additional details have been announced for the one-night only, bi-coastal livestream jamfest Rock of Ages: All-Star Reunion Concert tomorrow night, Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 8:00PM ET. All ticket purchasers will have the option of watching the concert live and/or on demand for an additional 24 hours through Monday, April 26.

The M&T Bank Broadway Season at RBTL’s Auditorium Theatre, presented by the Rochester Broadway Theatre League and Albert Nocciolino, has been announced! After a hiatus year, ALL of RBTL’s previously announced touring Broadway shows have been re-scheduled, and will be making their way to Rochester as promised. 

Shea’s Performing Arts Center has announced the new Broadway season dates today. Shows include DISNEY’S FROZEN: September 10 - 24, 2021; TOOTSIE: October 10 - 16, 2021; PRETTY WOMAN- THE MUSICAL: November 30 - December 5, 2021; HAMILTON: December 14, 2021 - January 2, 2022 and more.

More than 50 US theatre companies are benefitting from Estella Scrooge: A Christmas Carol with a Twist, an original streaming musical written and filmed during the pandemic, which focuses on the joys and responsibilities of common welfare and helping others. 

Zoetic Stage, the multi-award-winning professional theatre based at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Miami, presents the inaugural Finstrom Festival of New Work. 

A who’s who in the history of Palm Beach Dramaworks is set to participate in a live reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol on Monday evening, December 21 at 7:30pm. In the tradition of Dickens reading his own work, this presentation will showcase PBD luminaries reading the 1843 novella, with each artist separately performing a portion of the book before handing off to the next actor.

The Producers of ELEANOR’S VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS WISH - THE MUSICAL announced today that 23 theaters across the country have signed on to present the streaming production this holiday season. Following its 2019 Chicago World Premiere run, the team pivoted to create a virtual production for safe family viewing at home while theaters are closed.

The Drama League has announced the formation of its first Directors Council, featuring nationally-renowned directors Daniel Banks, Melia Bensussen, Christopher Burris, Jillian Carucci, Jennifer Chang, Desdemona Chiang, R.J. Cutler, Estefanía Fadul, Raz Golden, Brian Eugenio Herrera, Adam Immerwahr, Gwynn MacDonald, Tony Phelan and more.

Palm Beach Dramaworks will welcome philanthropist and former concert pianist Edith Hall Friedheim to its Board of Directors. Edith is the executive director of the Eric Friedheim Foundation, and a founding member of the Eric Friedheim Tourism Institute at the University of Florida.

As most live performance venues have remained closed, the Rochester Broadway Theatre League like so many venues in Rochester and across the country, have embraced the opportunity of presenting virtual entertainment and virtual education in multiple forms, such as live streamed concerts and Zoom Master Classes with Broadway professionals.

New York Theatre Barn will host a free live stream of its New Works Series on Wednesday, October 14th, 2020 at 7PM EDT, featuring excerpts from the new musicals Love & Southern D!scomfort and Present Perfect. The live 45-minute presentation will also feature a conversation with the writers and creative team.

Coyote StageWorks, the Coachella Valley-based award winning Actors Equity professional theater company, announced that it won a total of nine  awards from the Desert Theatre Leaguea's annual awards announcement on October 4th, the most awards presented to a professional theater company. Coyote StageWorks had been nominated for 28 awards, many for the production of a A Doll's House, Part 2 by Lucas Hnath, which ran from February 7 though 16 at the Palm Springs Cultural Center, and their popular Barbara Keller Playdate Series of staged readings. Coyote StageWorks has now received an impressive 89 Desert Theatre League Awards since it was founded.
