Leila Benn Harris, Tommy Sherlock et al. Set for FROM UP HERE World Premiere, June 13-15

Perfect Pitch Musicals and South Hill Park have announced the world premiere production of new musical FROM UP HERE, which will play four performances from Wednesday 13 – Friday 15 June 2012 at South Hill Park Arts Centre, featuring a West End cast including Leila Benn Harris, Tommy Sherlock, Russell Walker, Lisa Kerr and Tony Kemp. From Up Here has music and lyrics by Aaron Lee Lambert, and will be directed by Luke Sheppard with musical direction by Tom Attwood. UK Tour of LITTLE VOICE to Launch in Guildford, 31 Aug - Starring Corrie's Beverley Callard

Written and directed by Jim Cartwright, the Olivier Award-winning THE RISE AND FALL OF LITTLE VOICE will begin a national tour at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre on Friday 31 August, with opening night on Tuesday 4 September. The show stars Beverley Callard as ‘Mari Hoff’, Ray Quinn as ‘Billy’, Joe McGann as ‘Ray Say’, Duggie Brown as ‘Mr Boo’ and Jess Robinson as ‘Little Voice’. ( more...)

I AM MY OWN WIFE - Pulitzer And Tony Winner At Gulfshore Playhouse

Gulfshore Playhouse announced the final show that will complete their 2012-2013 season: “I Am My Own Wife”, the Tony Award-winning and Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Doug Hughes. The Playhouse will present this play that the New York Times called “both moving and intellectually absorbing” January 18-Feb 3, 2013, with a preview performance on January 17th.

Westport Country Playhouse to Present THE BREAD WINNER Reading, 6/25

“The Bread Winner” by W. Somerset Maugham, the author of “The Circle” and “The Constant Wife,” will be presented as a Script in Hand playreading at Westport Country Playhouse, on Monday, June 25, 7 p.m. The reading will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse artistic advisor, who is also curator of the Script in Hand series. Literary Salon Series To Launch at Westport Country Playhouse, 6/13

Westport Country Playhouse and Meryl L. Moss Media Relations, Inc. are partnering to enrich the theater-going experience with a new literary salon series called “Books Worth Talking About!” Launching in June, the program will feature a pre-show discussion with prominent authors followed by a performance of a Playhouse production. Seattle Center Seeks Proposals for New Long-Term Seattle Center Playhouse Tenant; Deadline 7/13

Seattle Center today issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking a long term tenant for the Seattle Center Playhouse, currently occupied by Intiman Theatre. The building, constructed for the 1962 Seattle WorldÂ’s Fair, contains a 446-seat auditorium, gracious lobby spaces, a large meeting room, workshop area, a variety of support spaces, and a 3,500 square foot studio/rehearsal hall added in 1998. Seattle Center must receive proposals for future use of the facility by July 13, 2012. It is anticipated The Playhouse will be available for occupancy on January 1, 2013. ( more...)

Ivoryton Playhouse Presents THE LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS, 6/6-24

The Last of the Red Hot Lovers, which opens at the Ivoryton Playhouse on June 6th and runs through June 24th, introduces audiences to Barney Cashman, a 47-year-old restaurateur, who decides he needs to take a break from his 23-year-old marriage. On three different afternoons, he brings women to his motherÂ’s apartment while sheÂ’s at the hospital volunteering.
