BARASSI is the story of iconic Australian footballer, coach, motivator and father of modern football, Ron Barassi depicted in an epic fashion, from child to elder statesman. It is a story of determination, passion and courage, of success and failure. The producers have announced the cast for this premiere production of Barassi, which will open at the Athenaeum Theatre on 20 September. The cast features Steve Bastoni, Chris Asimos, Matt Parkinson, Jane Clifton, Richard Sutherland, Glenn Maynard, Amanda LaBonte, Bartholomew Walsh and footballer Russell Robertson. (more...)

Sideways The Play, adapted by Rex Pickett from his own novel, will play in its world premiere by the Ruskin Group Theatre in Los Angeles, May 18 through July 22, Fridays-Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm. Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that movie star Jake Gyllenhaal will be making his American stage debut in If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet, a comedic drama by Nick Payne at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre this fall.
