Lillias White to Bring A WOMAN ON LOVE to Catalina Jazz Club, 6/3 & 10

Chris Isaacson Presents and Upright Cabaret present the West Coast club return of Broadway diva and Tony Award-winner Lillias White in her new show, A Woman On Love, at the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood. There will be two performances only, on Mondays, June 3 and 10 at 8:30pm, with cocktail and dinner service beginning at 6:30pm. The June 10 show also marks the second anniversary of The Night After The Tonys, a tradition begun in 2012 by Ms. White and Upright Cabaret. (more...)

On April 6, Their Most Imperial and Sovereign Majesties, Emperor XXI Ritz Kraka and Empress XXVI Witti Repartee, presented The Night of a Thousand Gowns -- a dazzling display of regal glamour, an opportunity to celebrate the LGBT community, and in particular, the colorful cross-dressing segment of that community. In its twenty-seven year history the Imperial Court of New York has donated over 1.5 million dollars to worthy LGBT, HIV/AIDS and youth enrichment related causes. Boston's Rob Loyot Releases New Rhythm and Soul Album

With SIDEMAN SEZ, long-time Producer/Multi-instrumentalist and multiple Boston Music Award winner Rob Loyot takes his turn at the mic, delivering a Rhythm and Soul release in the style of Ray LaMontagne and Marc Cohn. The seed for the project was planted almost 15 years ago. As a "sideman" and bandmate for some amazingly talented songwriters over the last 25 years, in bands that played original music almost exclusively, Rob struggled with the fact that some of his favorite songs had never even been recorded. The songs, all borrowed from great songwriters that Loyot has worked with over the years, demonstrate a diverse set of influences from Little Feat's New Orleans gumbo of 'Take It Easy Baby' and the Gospel-inflected 'Let It Slide' to the Jack Jonhson-esque 'Passerby' and even giving a nod to Steely Dan with the dense chord changes of 'Sweetest Eyes' and the tight funkiness of 'Swing Out West.' In short, Sideman Sez is a loving nod to Loyot's own experience as a sideman, and to sidemen in general. (more...)
