The Magnet Theater presents The Fourth Annual New York Musical Improv Festival from October 4-7. Over 100 performers from as far as Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oklahoma City, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Washington DC and as close as Broadway, NYC will converge on the Magnet Theater stage to create fully improvised musical performances - ranging from traditional musical theatre fare to adrenaline-pumping rap battles. Three cowboys settle their scores the old fashioned way. An old Broadway star finally attempts her long-anticipated comeback. And, in a blatantly self-referential sketch, a young comedian tries to convince his friend to come see his show. These sketches and more, in the classic Citizen Models style-- funny and good. CITIZEN MODELS is fast-paced theatrical sketch comedy that could almost be classified as 'Performance Art.' Written, directed, produced, and performed by Anne Fidler, Kevin Young, Paul Travisano, and Tyler Foltz. (more...)

Tony Nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo will join The Upright Citizen's Brigade's Gravid Water Monday April 26. Gravid Water was created by Stephen Ruddy, the show is a mixture of improv and theatre. Gravid Water consists of two person scenes, pairing an actor who has prepared a scene from a play with an improvisor who has no knowledge of the material their scene partner is using. (more...)
