The Acme Corporation Stages IF YOU CAN GET TO BUFFALO, Now thru 5/25 by BWW News Desk - May 22, 2013
The Acme Corporation, Baltimore's newest Station North-based theatre ensemble, will present Trish Harnetiaux's new play, IF YOU CAN GET TO BUFFALO, an exploration of 'A Rape in Cyberspace' by Julian Dibbell, directed by Eric Nightengale at The Great Hall at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1900 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, selected days, May 16, 17 @ 8pm, May 18 @ 7pm & 10pm and May 22 - 25 @8pm. Jacqueline Ann Holloway and Robert Westley Join Salon/Sanctuary's ON POINT, 6/3 by BWW News Desk - May 21, 2013
Actor/sword fighters Jacqueline Ann Holloway and Robert Westley will be joining NYCB dancers Jared Angle and Megan LeCrone and members of the Sebastians Chamber Orchestra for On Point: From Duel to Pas de Deux, to be presented by Salon/Sanctuary Concerts. An exploration of the shared origins of sword fighting and ballet, On Point will be presented on Monday June 3rd at The Liederkranz Club at 7:00PM. Musical selections will include Heinrich Ignaz von Biber (1644 - 1704)Battaglia a 10 in D Major; Johann Heinrich Schmelzer (1620 - 1680) Balletto for Strings and Continuo in G 'Die Fechtschule' and GF Handel (1685 - 1759), Sonata in B-flat, Op. 2, No. 3, HWV 388. SIGNS OF LIFE Gets Staged Reading at American University, 6/1-2 by BWW News Desk - May 19, 2013
Snap-Two Productions, Inc. and LimanAde Productions in association with Issembert Productions, Inc. will present a staged reading of the new drama with music, Signs of Life, at American University in the Katzen Arts Center Studio Theatre on June 1 at 7:00 P.M. and June 2 at 1:00 P.M. The performances will feature American University alumni, current students and a student from BRAVO@KAT, the children's wing of Kensington Arts Theatre. BRAVO@KAT to Stage FIDDLER ON THE ROOF JR., 6/8-9 by BWW News Desk - May 19, 2013
What possibly could be said or written about a production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF Jr. that hasn't already been announced countless times? Probably nothing except the one word 'tradition' and that's the lasting essence of this theatrical phenomenon on two levels for this BRAVO@KAT student production. The show retells the ethnic traditions of a specific family but it has universal appeal. The 'tradition' here is a dual one because it includes the re-enactment of the cherished Broadway tradition of teaching new generations of American children the theatrical classics of our culture. terraNOVA COLLECTIVE and Producing Artistic Director, Jennifer Conley Darling, are pleased to present acclaimed mime, Bill Bowers' BEYOND WORDS, straight from a White House engagement to the west village: BEYOND WORDS will be a special headliner to kick off the 10TH Annual soloNOVA Arts Festival, the award-winning and longest-running solo performance festival in New York City, performing Wednesday May 22 at 8pm and Saturday May 25 at 2pm at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street, NYC). The eight other solo shows included in the soloNOVA Arts Festival will play two weeks only at IRT Theater (154 Christopher Street, inside the landmark Archive Building).
