he Public Theaterannounced complete casting today for the new musical SOUTHERN COMFORT that tells the true story of a group of transgender friends living life on their own terms in the back hills of rural Georgia.  Directed by Thomas Caruso and based on the film by Kate Davis, SOUTHERN COMFORT features book and lyrics by Dan Collins and music by Julianne Wick Davis, and was conceived for the stage by Robert DuSold and Thomas Caruso. SOUTHERN COMFORT begins previews on Tuesday, February 23 and will run through Sunday, March 27 in The Public's Anspacher Theater, with an official press opening on Monday, March 7. Public Theater Member tickets and single tickets are available now.

The VH Theatrical Development Foundation announces that after an acclaimed Off-Broadway engagement last fall, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE! (formerly titled THE BRIGHTNESS OF HEAVEN), a new play by best-selling author Laura Pedersen FROM BUFFALO, will open the 2015-2016 Frey Electric Construction Co.  Season at the 710 Main Theatre (formerly Studio Arena Theatre) in Buffalo, New York, with a limited engagement scheduled to play tonight, September 17 - Sunday, October 4, 2015.  Directed by Ludovica Villar-Hauser, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE! is set in Buffalo, where Ms. Pedersen was born and raised.

The White Heron Theatre Company announces the opening of its first play of the 2015 season - the timeless Pulitzer Prize-winning play The Gin Game by D.L. Coburn, running from July 6th through July 22nd at White Heron's 2015 summer home -  Nantucket's Dreamland Theater on Water Street.

Who let the hound out? This summer, Sherlock Holmes attempts to solve the mystery of the moor at Florida Studio Theatre. The Hound of the Baskervilles, by Steven Canny and John Nicholson, begins tonight, July 1 in Gompertz Theatre.  This twist on the classic Sherlock Holmes tale makes for a funny, cunningly clever whodunit adventure. 

Victory Gardens Theater presents the final show of its 40th anniversary season, the Midwest Premiere of The Who & the What by Ayad Akhtar, directed by Ron OJ Parson. The Who & the What runs tonight, June 12 - July 12, 2015 with the press performance on Friday, June 19, 2015, at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint are pleased to present Tony and Emmy Award winners DAVID HYDE PIERCE and DEBRA MONK in A.R. Gurney's classic love story, Love Letters, on the New Brunswick stage for one night only tonight, June 3 at 8pm. The modern classic two-hander will be helmed by GSP Artistic Director DAVID SAINT.
