The Drama League Theater Center threw open its doors for a 'Welcome Back Celebration.' It was a welcome back to the Drama League's in-person programming, theater, and live events in the world's greatest city. The invite-only guests included the Drama League Members, staff, Board, and Directors Project alumni. Dozens of guests gathered at the Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley Studio Lab to toast the new theater season and tour the Drama League Center's Tribecca offices.

Lane and Bonnie Comley hosted a celebration at their East Hampton estate for Bay Street Theater, honoring Mercedes Ruehl and Harris Yulin. Arriving just in time for the holiday season, BroadwayHD, in partnership with Guggenheim Entertainment, will debut a dazzling and fun performance of The MeshugaNutcracker! This full-length musical comedy features the wonderfully silly sensibilities of the folklore of Chelm (the fictional town of fools) underscored by an invigorating, Klezmer-ized orchestration of Tchaikovsky's 'Nutcracker Suite', now with original lyrics that celebrate Chanukah.  

BroadwayHD, the premier streaming service for live theater productions, is expanding its library to include the most comprehensive library of Cirque du Soleil titles available for streaming. The company today announces that it will offer a collection of 10 titles – eight live productions and two original documentaries - based on the avant-garde entertainment company's most successful live events to date. As previously announced, the critically-acclaimed Roundabout Theatre Company production of She Loves Me comes to THIRTEEN's Great Performances, Friday, October 20 at 9 p.m. (check local listings) as the opening presentation of PBS's fall Broadway's best lineup.

In November 2016, Sam Shepard's Pulitzer-Prize winning play Buried Child debuted on THIRTEEN's Theater Close-Upseries.  In tribute to Shepard, who passed away last week at age 73, THIRTEEN is presenting a special encore presentation ofBuried Child airing in New York Friday, August 4 at 9 p.m. ET on THIRTEEN. Actress Blythe Danner hosts the broadcast.  Director Scott Elliott's acclaimed production by The New Group is available to stream online now for those within the New York metro area. 

Can't travel to New York? No problem! BroadwayHD has just announced it will record tonight's performance of PRESENT LAUGHTER, starring Academy Award and two-time Tony Award winner Kevin Kline in his triumphant return to Broadway, for on-demand viewing on BroadwayHD.com later this year.

Monday night, a kickoff dinner was held honoring the 2017 Directors Project fellows. The dinner took place at the home of Broadway producers and BroadwayHD co-founders Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley. The guest of honor of the evening was Moritz von Stuelpnagel (director of Present Laughter, Hand To God), who is a Directors Project alumnus himself.

Theater Close-Up, the unique collaboration between THIRTEEN and the large community of New York City area non-profit Off-Broadway theaters, will present Sam Shepard's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Buried Child in Scott Elliott's acclaimed production from The New Group, Monday, November 28 at 9 p.m. on THIRTEEN, with an encore presentation on Friday, December 2 at 3:30 a.m. The play will also air Sunday, December 18 at 10 p.m. on WLIW21. Actress Blythe Danner hosts the broadcast.
