The Huntington Theatre Company presents the brilliant classic comedy Tartuffe by Moli re, directed by Huntington Theatre Company Artistic Director Peter DuBois (Sunday in the Park with George), translated by Ranjit Bolt, and featuring actor and comedianBrett Gelman (Murray Bauman on the upcoming season of Netflix's Stranger Things and Dinner with Brett Gelman specials on Adult Swim) as Tartuffe and Tony Award winner Frank Wood (Side Man and August Osage County on Broadway and HBO's Flight of the Conchords ) as Orgon. Performances run from November 10 through December 10, 2017 at the Avenue of the Arts / Huntington Avenue Theatre.

GYPSY will run at the Lyric Stage Company in Boston until October 8. The legendary show is based on the real-life memoirs of burlesque mega-star, Gypsy Rose Lee, and her stage-mother behind the curtain, Mama Rose. It features songs such as 'Everything's Coming Up Roses,' 'Some People,' and 'Let Me Entertain You.'

Two dozen nominations of outstanding actors, directors, designers and ensembles were announced today by The Boston Theater Critics Association (BTCA), with winners to be revealed at the 35th Annual Elliot Norton Awards on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 7 PM, at Huntington Theatre Company's BU Theatre.

Bridge Repertory Theater, in a co-production with Playhouse Creatures, presents Emily Mann's MRS. PACKARD, a drama inspired by true events, chronicling one woman's fight for the right to freely express her opinion, even if it differed from that of her husband. Under the direction of Emily Ranii, a cast of eighteen actors, lead by Olivia D'Ambrosio, Joseph Rodriguez, and Steven Barkhimer, stages a vivid and compelling interpretation of Mann's play.

Actors' Shakespeare Project closes its 13th season with the definitive Shakespearean recipe for mirth and magic. Start with equal parts poetry and wit, add one misapplied love potion, stir in a feuding celestial couple, and finish with the most unintentionally awful play-within-a-play ever created, and you get A Midsummer Night's Dream. Directed by Patrick Swanson (Revels' Artistic Director), the production features Resident Acting Company members Steven Barkhimer* (Bottom), Sarah Newhouse* (Puck), and Paula Plum* (Titania) (Picture left by Nile Scott Shots.) Edward Albee's 1962 barn-burner at the Lyric Stage Company is an emotional conflagration that rages and consumes everyone in its path. Director Scott Edmiston adheres to the playwright's strict blueprint, but takes full advantage of the singular qualities of his quartet of actors - Steven Barkhimer, Paula Plum, Dan Whelton, and Erica Spyres. Definitely do not miss this one.

Written and directed by Producing Artistic Director Weylin Symes, with original music and lyrics by local actor/director/writer/composer Steven Barkhimer, LOBSTER GIRL is set in Cape Ann, Massachusetts. The homegrown production features about a dozen songs of eclectic genres that serve as the tug boat to the laden book. The water hasn't reached a boil yet for this crustacean.

Stoneham Theatre closes its 16th Season with Lobster Girl, a World Premiere musical written and directed by Producing Artistic Director Weylin Symes with music and lyrics by Steven Barkhimer. Choreography is by IRNE and Elliot Norton Award-winner Ilyse Robbins. When Hank invites his girlfriend's 14-year-old daughter, Cora, out for the day on his lobster boat off of Cape Ann, things go swimmingly until his assistant lets it slip that wedding bells will soon chime. That's when the seas start to get a bit choppy. Performances run from June 9 - 26, 2016. Press Opening is Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 3:00pm.

Recent IRNE Award-winner Sarah Gazdowicz directs LAURA with a steady hand, garnering especially strong performances from Alexander Cook as Detective Mark McPherson and Steven Barkhimer as Waldo Lydecker. Jasmine Rush coolly plays the title character, an attractive career woman whose portrait infatuates the detective investigating her murder.
