NUNSENSE Opens Theatre by the Sea's 80th Anniversary Season

NUNSENSE, the award-winning and hilarious Off-Broadway hit musical comedy, plays the historic stage at Bill Hanney's Theatre by the Sea from May 29 thru June 16. Sometimes when a theatre tackles a Broadway show that has recently ended, comparisons to that show make it tough not to compare the two, but that is not the case with Meadow Brook Theatre's production of Next to Normal. Not only did it do the original Broadway show justice with talented cast connecting with the audience emotionally, this production took an award winning show making it their own and standing out because of it. NUNSET BOULEVARD to be Filmed in NYC 7/15-16, Public Invited

The Little Sisters of Hoboken have gone Hollywood in the latest installment of the international musical comedy sensation Nunsense franchise with Nunset Boulevard. The Sisters will commit their exploits to celluloid in a New York City filming of the show for future DVD release, it was announced today by Nunsense creator Dan Goggin. The public is invited to be a part of the live audience for two performances of the show, which will take place on July 15 & 16, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. at the Di Capo Theatre (184 East 76th St. between Lexington Ave. and Third Ave., under Saint Jean Baptiste Church). One of the most successful musicals of all time, Dan Goggin's NUNSENSE will celebrate its silver birthday this summer with a 25th anniversary production presented by the Off-Broadway Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St. in Manhattan) -- where the hilarious musical comedy about the Little Sisters of Hoboken debuted Off-Broadway in 1985 - with performances beginning June 15 and running through July 18, 2010, it has been announced by Angelina Fiordellisi, Artistic Director of Cherry Lane Theatre and herself a former member of the cast of NUNSENSE in 1987.
