Yesterday, the El Capitan Theater held a special "Fan Experience" Marvel Marathon featuring back-to-back screenings of IRON MAN, IRON MAN 2, MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS, and IRON MAN 3, which debuted at midnight. Director Shane Black, actor Ty Simpkins, and Marvel legend Stan Lee all made surprise appearances for the fans. The event was hosted by Tiffany Smith from Marvel.com. IRON MAN 3 Shatters China's IMAX Records with $1.8 Million Opening Day

Imax Corporation (NYSE: IMAX; TSX: IMX) and Marvel Entertainment, LLC announced today that Marvel's Iron Man 3(TM) grossed an estimated $1.54 million (?9,710,312) at 101 Imax theatres in China during its first day, Wednesday, May 1. Combined with midnight screenings, the Imax total box office in China for the film is now $1.8 million, shattering the previous opening-day record set by Titanic in 2012 by 52%. (more...)

IRON MAN 3 Grosses $7.1 Million in Overseas IMAX Theaters

IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX; TSX:IMX) and Marvel Entertainment announced that Marvel's Iron Man 3(TM) has grossed an estimated $7.1 million in 113 IMAX theatres since its open on Wednesday, April 24, through yesterday. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, the Denver Comic Con announced that Doctor Who celebrities Colin Baker and Daphne Ashbrook will be coming across the pond to attend the second annual pop-culture event. Joining the list of the comic elite, Denver Comic Con will play host to a star-studded cast of sci-fi, comic and animation guests including Stan Lee, George Takei, Wil Wheaton and Felicia Day.
