Chairman of Stage Entertainment, Joop van den Ende and Producer and President of Disney Theatrical Productions, Thomas Schumacher announce two premiere productions of THE LITTLE MERMAID. The Holland production is currently in previews in Groningen and opens on June 16th, 2012 in Rotterdam. The Moscow production of THE LITTLE MERMAID will make its debut on October 6th, 2012. Paloma San Basilio, Juan Gea y Joan Crosas protagonizarán este espectáculo. It's back on! REBECCA, the new musical based on the classic novel by Daphne du Maurier novel (and later turned into an Oscar-winning film by Alfred Hitchcock) which was postponed earlier this year, will now open on Broadway Sunday, November 18 at The Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). Previews will begin Tuesday, October 30. REBECCA will be produced by Ben Sprecher and Louise Forlenza; with The Shubert Organization, DC Tours Pty Ltd, Manderley Partners, Julian Spencer, Paul Abrams, Tony Fusco, Nanda Anand, Peter Bogyo, Peter Bezemes and Dennis Grimaldi, in association with David Mirvish, Stage Entertainment and Larry Feinman and by special arrangement with Vereinigte Bühnen Wien GmbH. Stage Entertainment, in cooperation with Disney Theatrical Productions, will present the Dutch premiere of The Little Mermaid, which premiered on Broadway in 2007. After presenting Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, the Netherlands is the first country to scoop the European premiere of the Disney musical. Disney's The Little Mermaid opens on Saturday May 12, premiering at Martini Plaza in Groningen and then playing larger theaters in the Netherlands. Check out the trailer video below. (more...)

Gallery New World Stages, located at 343 West 49th Street, today announced the upcoming opening of 4950 DRAWINGS & PRINTS: A Group Exhibition. This exhibition presents 55 original drawings and digital prints. The show will be on view from May 11 through September 3, 2012, with a Artist Reception on May 11, from 5pm to 8pm. In 2005 Andrew Lloyd WebberÂ’s Really Useful Theatres sold his four playhouses, the Lyric, Apollo, Garrick and Duchess theatres to Nica Burns and Max Weitzenhoffer who formed Nimax Theatres Limited, adding the Vaudeville Theatre in 2008. Today Burns and Weitzenhoffer are also the proud owners of the spectacular Palace Theatre with its prime location on Shaftesbury Avenue, currently home to Stage EntertainmentÂ’s hit revival of Chichester Festival TheatreÂ’s SinginÂ’ in the Rain.
