Putting together on one stage Lea Salonga, Ramin Karimloo, and Sierra Boggess sounds such a completely stellar idea; but, when examined closely, it is quite tricky. Given the varied theater credits under their names, one would have to carefully consider what type of show--in a concert form--would showcase their vocal abilities in a way that they need not upstage one another. To make things more interesting, or complicated, what if you would include Japan's very own TV and theater star Yu Shirota in the already mixed bag of performers? How will he fit in? (more...)

London's 'Phantom' Peter Jöback Joins PHANTOM OF THE OPERA on Broadway Today by BWW News Desk - Apr 29, 2013
The longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Harold Prince and produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Theatre Company, Inc., will welcome West End star and Platinum-selling Swedish recording star Peter Joback to the New York cast this summer. PRINCE OF BROADWAY to Make World Premiere in Tokyo by BWW News Desk - Apr 19, 2013
As BroadwayWorld previously reported, PRINCE OF BROADWAY, the new musical celebrating legendary Broadway director and producer Harold 'Hal' Prince has been postponed indefinitely due to scheduling conflicts. Now in an interview with the Washington Post, Prince revealed that the show will soon premiere at Tokyo's Umeda Arts Theater and will hopefully move on the Broadway after. (more...)
