CONFIRMED: DEXTER to Conclude Run Following 8th Season

In a special announcement this afternoon made directly to DEXTER's 13 million fans on the show's Facebook page, SHOWTIME confirmed that the upcoming eighth season of the groundbreaking series will be its final one. The announcement coincided with the release of an exclusive tease from the premiere of the series' eighth and final season, which debuts on Sunday June 30th at 9 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME. The series premiered on the network on October 1, 2006 and has grown its loyal audience every season since its debut. DEXTER was the recipient of the prestigious Peabody Award, as well as 25 Emmy and 10 Golden Globe Award nominations, and was twice named one of AFI's top ten television series. (more...)

Part One will premiere today at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT, and make its television debut on Friday, February 15, at 8 PM ET/PT (two hours) on SHOWTIME. SHOWTIME has ordered its first pilot for 2013, THE VATICAN, a provocative contemporary genre thriller about spirituality, power and politics - set against the modern-day political machinations within the Catholic church. The series will explore the relationships and rivalries as well as the mysteries and miracles behind one of the world's most hidden institutions. Two-time Oscar nominee (Quiz Show, Donnie Brasco) and three-time Emmy(R) nominee (House M.D.) Paul Attanasio wrote the hour-long script. Master of modern day cinema and triple Oscar nominee and Golden Globe(R)-winner Sir Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus, Blade Runner, Black Hawk Down, The Good Wife), will direct the pilot - marking his first ever for television.
