Red Bull Theater has revealed the cast for their annual Short New Play Festival 2026 to be held at Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre at Peter Norton Symphony Space in June.

Ms. Babb doesn’t hit a single false note as legendary singer and civil rights icon Marian Anderson. She is a commanding presence on stage, effusing class and an iron will. The only cavil I have with her singing voice is we don’t get to hear nearly enough of it, but what we do hear is heavenly.

Penguin Rep Theatre, under the leadership of Joe Brancato, founding Artistic Director, and Andrew M. Horn, Executive Director, announced that casting is complete for the New York premiere of Deborah Brevoort’s My Lord, What a Night, which officially kicks off the company’s 49th season.

Red Bull Theater will present Sejanus by Ben Jonson as part of its OBIE Award–winning Revelation Readings series. Adapted and directed by Nathan Winkelstein, the reading will be performed live in New York and streamed online.

Duke & Roya is officially open at the Lucille Lortel Theatre! The new play stars Jay Ellis, Stephanie Nur, Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee Noma Dumezweni and Dariush Kashani. The understudies for Duke & Roya are Ariana Afradi, Shirine Babb, René David Ifrah, and Jequrey Slaton.
