Durango PlayFest today announced a cast of 11 New York- and Los Angeles-based actors who will headline four plays being developed at its new works festival. The August 5-10 event brings nationally recognized actors, playwrights and directors to Durango to incubate new plays, hold workshops for the community, and culminate the week with staged readings. The 5th Avenue Theatre is announcing a change in its 2019/20 season lineup. The world premiere of an original new musical, Bliss, will replace the previously announced Stu for Silverton in early 2020. Producing Artistic Director Bill Berry said, "Even though we do not like to make changes after we have announced our season, we are very proud of the hundreds of thousands of audience members who come to The 5th each year and understand that this is sometimes part of the process of being one of the leading theaters in the country producing new musicals."

Arizona Theatre Company Artistic Director Sean Daniels' play about his unusual path to sobriety, The White Chip, a co-production with 2014 Broadway Global Producer of the Year Tom Kirdahy (Hadestown, Frankie & Johnnie in the Clare Du Lune, Anastasia) will be on stage Off Broadway at 59E59 Theaters in New York City from Oct. 4-26.

Jim Kierstead and Broadway Factor have announced a private industry reading for the new play, SPARKLER. Written by Erik Champney and directed by Sheryl Kaller, the reading will be held in New York City on March 29, 2019.

Midnight Theatricals has annouced an updated performance schedule and released a new trailer for WE ARE THE TIGERS, the original pop/rock musical and teen horror comedy written & composed by Preston Max Allen and produced by S. Asher Gelman, that will open Off-Broadway at Theater 80 (80 St. Mark's Place) tonight at 8:00PM Michael Bello directs the pitch-black comedy about a dismally low-ranking team of cheerleaders trying to survive the night while being terrorized by a serial killer. Music supervision and arrangements are by Patrick Sulken. The production began previews on Thursday, February 7, 2019, and will run through April 17. www.tigersmusical.com

The Women in the Arts & Media Coalition will present the 2019 Collaboration Awards. which recognize women who successfully collaborate to create new and influential work, at the SVA Theater (333 West 23rd St, New York, NY 10011) on Saturday, March 30 at 6:30pm. The 2019 Collaboration Awards Gala will be held on International SWAN Day (Support Women Artists Now), along with numerous celebrations around the world supporting women artists. 

Primary Stages is currently presenting God Said This, written by Leah Nanako Winkler (Two Mile Hollow) and directed by Morgan Gould (Kentucky). The show celebrated its opening last night, January 29, for a run through February 15, 2019 at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St, New York, NY, 10014).
