Working Title Co-Chairmen to Receive David O. Selznick Achievement Award by Movies News Desk - Nov 14, 2012
The Producers Guild of America (PGA) is pleased to announce that Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, co-chairmen of Working Title Films, will receive the 2013 David O. Selznick Achievement Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures. Cate Blanchett to Return as Galadriel for THE HOBBIT by BWW News Desk - Dec 07, 2010
According to EW.com, Cate Blanchett will return to the Lord of the Ring series as 'Galadriel' in 'The Hobbit.' Filming is set to begin in February in New Zealand, as confirmed by MGM, Warner Brothers, and New Line. Lord of the Rings director and Oscar winner Peter Jackson will direct the two-part film. STREETCAR May Be Broadway-bound With Multiracial Cast by BWW News Desk - Feb 02, 2010
The Sydney Theater Company's production of 'A Streetcar Named Desire' helmed by Liv Ullman and starring Cate Blanchett was an immediate success when it played a limited engagement at the BAM Harvey Theatre late last year. Since the closing of the show, rumors abound of a possible Broadway run. An entry in the The New York Times' ArtsBeat blog today reports that Stephen C. Byrd, the producer who holds the rights to 'Streetcar' has decided not to attempt to transfer the Sydney Theatre Company's production. Instead, spokesman Gary Springer said on Tuesday that a revival of sorts may be in the works, incorporating a multiracial cast into the production, while eyeing a Broadway run in the Spring 2011. With films and filmmakers arriving from across the globe, the Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) kicks off its 13th annual event August 4th-9th, 2009. This year 235 feature length, documentary and short films - from 57 countries - will be screened over a six-day period In locations throughout the state, all vying for top awards. Out of over 7,000 film festivals worldwide, RIIFF is one of only 63 Academy Award qualifying Festivals. This year's films have been selected from a record entry base of over 3,000 submissions.
