The Drama League has announced the 2017 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award. Scroll down for the full list of nominees!

New Yiddish Rep's revival of the controversial classic 'God of Vengeance' just hosted a talk-back, allowing audiences to delve deeply into aspects of this groundbreaking play by Sholem Asch. Just last night Rebecca Taichman (the director and co-creator of the Broadway-bound play 'Indecent,' which is based on the history of the play, and Gene Steinberg), headed to LaMaMa for the discussion and she was joined by some of her Indecent cast. The Off Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents, and marketing firms, will hold another in its Sunday Seminars series, focused on the culture, business and history of Off Broadway on Sunday, February 7th, 2016.

Samuel French presents The Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, the nation's premier short play competition August 4 - 9 at the East 13th Street Theater (Classic Stage Company). Chosen from over 1,500 submissions (a record breaking number) from the U.S. and abroad, 30 finalist plays, each running 10-30 minutes in length, will be presented. The Sunday, August 9th presentation is the culmination of the week-long festival at which the six winning plays will be presented.

Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein will host a special Birthday party on Thursday, May 24th to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Little / Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44th Street), which opened on March 12, 1912 with John Galsworthy's play The Pigeon. The theatre is currently home to the smash hit musical Rock of Ages.

Martin Markinson and Jeff Tick are pleased to announce that Monday, March 12th marks the 100th anniversary of the Little/Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44th Street), which opened on March 12, 1912 with John Galsworthy's play THE PIGEON. The theatre is currently home to the smash hit musical Rock of Ages. A private centennial celebration at the theatre is confirmed for Thursday, May 24, 2012. The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) today announced the selections for the 2012 Next Link Project, NYMF's primary writer service program. The Next Link Project empowers emerging musical theatre writing teams as both artists and entrepreneurs by providing the training and relationships needed to help them move their musicals from readings to fully-realized productions and to advance their careers by maximizing the exposure they receive in the Festival. Ten of the Festival's full production slots are reserved for participants in The Next Link Project.

On Sunday, November 14, the New York Musical Theatre Festival hosted it's annual awards gala, honoring the winners of this year's fest and industry veterans Chita Rivera and producers Barry and Fran Weissler. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the event and brings you photo coverage below.

The New York Musical Theater Festival honored TV's NY 1 ON STAGE and Sh-K-Boom & Ghostlight Records at its sixth Anniversary Season Awards Gala on Sunday, November 22nd at The Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street). The winners of NYMF 2009 Awards for Excellence, which were announced earlier this month, were also honored at the gala.

The New York Musical Theater Festival honored producer Robyn Goodman at its Fifth Anniversary Season Awards Gala on Sunday, November 2nd at The Hudson Theatre.

On Sunday October 5th, The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) concluded its fifth year, a year which featured 24 full productions, a dance series, a developmental series, concerts and special events. To celebrate the successful 2008 Festival, NYMF'S BROADWAY PROM took place that same evening Sunday 5th 2008 at TOUCH (240 W 53nd Street) from 8PM to 12am.

On Monday night, November 5 the William Morris Talent Agency again celebrated the start of the new theatre season and - as is their tradition - a charity, as well. This year, they honored the season and the Bronx Chart School for the Arts with a star-studded party at The Palm Restaurant
