This morning, Spider-Man Reeve Carney introduced the first song from the upcoming Broadway show on Good Morning America, September 10. Carney performed the song, composed by Bono and The Edge at the Hudson Theatre in the Millennium Hotel, with the performance broadcast live during the 8am-9am hour. He is the man who brought SPIDER-MAN back from the brink. In a feature out yesterday, the New York Times profiles Michael Cohl, the man about which we have heard little, but who is responsible for resurrecting the most expensive and, for some, most highly anticipated Broadway show in history. Cohl stepped into the role of lead producer on the mega-musical in the fall of 2009 after a significant investment in the show fell out, leaving the production stifled and dry. A former music tour promoter for U2 and the Rolling Stones, Cohl was recruited by SPIDER-MAN composers Bono and The Edge to reinvigorate the production. And reinvigorate it he has, with previews officially scheduled to begin in just months on November 14, 2010.

As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will make its television debut this Friday, September 10, on ABC's 'Good Morning America.' The appearance will feature interviews with the show's composers and lyricists, Bono and The Edge, live via satellite from their European tour, and Tony Award-winning director Julie Taymor, as well as the premiere of a song from the highly anticipated show, performed by its star, Reeve Carney (who portrays Peter Parker/Spider-Man) and his band Carney, live from The Hudson Theatre in Times Square.

Lead producer Michael Cohl today announced the complete cast for SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, which begins rehearsals this morning. Directed by Julie Taymor and featuring a book by Julie Taymor and Glen Berger, and new music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will begin previews at Broadway's Foxwoods Theatre (213 West 42nd Street) on November 14, with opening night set for December 21.
