NVC Presents LEAVING HOME with Malcolm Gets & More Tonight

The New Voices Collective is excited to present the world premiere of Leaving Home - a triple bill of three one-act musicals with music by Jonathan Larson Award-winner Sam Davis (Bunnicula) and book and lyrics by Drama Desk-nominee Sean Hartley (Cupid and Psyche). An amazing cast includes Stanley Bahorek (Spelling Bee, Big River, February House), Sarah Corey (Illyria, Caroline, or Change) Malcolm Gets (The Good Wife, Blue Bloods, Amour, The Apple Tree), Edward Hibbert (Frasier, Curtains, Drowsy Chaperone) Kirsten Scott (Follies, Hairspray), A.J. The 2013 performances kick off with the annual Bound for Broadway show hosted by Liz Callaway and continues with Tony-nominated lyricist Amanda Green, an evening with the fascinating women from the musicals of Cy Coleman, and an enchanting exploration of duets, trios, quartets and ensemble numbers by Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein and Irving Berlin among others. 23rd Annual Kleban Prize Winners Announced

The Kleban Foundation has announced that the 23rd annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has gone to Daniel Mate and the 23rd annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has gone to Alan Gordon. The 2013 prizes will be presented on June 24, 2013, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) hosted by ASCAP and BMI. (more...)
