Kate Rockwell & Teresa Stanley to Join Cast of ROCK OF AGES, 1/21 by BWW News Desk - Dec 20, 2012
Producers of the five-time Tony Award nominated hit musical ROCK OF AGES have just announced that Kate Rockwell (Bring It On: The Musical, Legally Blonde), will 'Bring It' to Broadway's Bourbon Room, taking on the leading role of Sherrie - the "small town girl" who "took the midnight train goin' anywhere" - on Monday, January 21, 2013. That same day, Teresa Stanley (The Color Purple, Rock of Ages First National Tour) will take over the role of Justice, owner of the Sunset Strip's Venus Club. (more...)

American Pop Anthology, in association with Scott Prisand (Broadway's Rock of Ages), announced that they will present the new musical production BOY FROM NEW YORK CITY written and directed by Tony Award-nominee Floyd Mutrux (Broadway's Million Dollar Quartet and Baby It's You!) and choreographed by Birgitte Mutrux (Broadway's Baby It's You!). Performances begin tonight, September 20, 2012 for an eight-week run at The Coast Playhouse (8325 Santa Monica Boulevard) in West Hollywood. (more...)

Adam Shankman's ROCK OF AGES, which opened last weekend, brought in an additional $8 million in its second weekend, according to Boxofficemojo. As Broadwayworld previously reported, the musical earned $14.4 million in its opening weekend, and a total of $28,763,000. The movie took fifth place (behind Brave, Madagascar 3, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Prometheus), having the sixth-highest opening ever for a musical. (more...)
