A CHRISTMAS STORY Holds NYC Open Casting Call for 'Ralphie' on 5/5

The producers of A Christmas Story, The Musical, including Peter Billingsley, who starred as Ralphie in the original 1983 film, are holding open auditions to find exceptionally talented kids for the upcoming 2013 production. Recently nominated for three 2013 Tony Awards including Best Musical,A Christmas Story, The Musical seeks young actors to play Ralphie, his friends and classmates, including: Randy, Flick, Schwartz, Scut Farcus, Grover Dill, Mary Beth, and Esther Jane. A Christmas Story, The Musical arrives on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre just in time for the 2012 holiday season. The new musical, based on the 1983 movie perennial, the musical begins performances November 7 at 7PM. The eight-week limited engagement runs through December 30. Lincoln Center Chooses Wind Energy from Green Mountain Energy Company

Green Mountain Energy Company is pleased to announce that Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts will become the first performing arts center in New York City to be powered by 100% wind energy. The wind energy to support Lincoln Center will be purchased by Green Mountain in the form of renewable energy certificates (RECs). This purchase compliments the completion of Lincoln Center's recent $1.2 billion transformation, which includes a new U.S. Green Building Council LEEDŽ Gold certified building, the David Rubenstein Atrium.
"Our ambitious transformation to make Lincoln Center more open and accessible involves not only updating our world-class facilities, but also significantly developing our public spaces, and maximizing efficiency for the campus," said Tim Hassett, Lincoln Center's Vice President for Concert Halls & Operations. "Sustainability is important to Lincoln Center artists, students, and visitors, as well as our staff." (more...)

The Barn Theatre Celebrates 85 Seasons of Producing

The Barn Theatre in Montville, NJ started as the Mountain Lakes Dramatic Guild and made its debut in the State Theatre in Boonton on September 28, 1928. They now enter their 85th season and shared some of the history with BWW. (more...)

2012 Equity Jeff Award Nominations Announced

The Jeff Awards Committee announced 197 nominations in 34 categories for Chicago Equity theatrical productions, which opened between August 1, 2011, and July 31, 2012. The Jeff Awards judges attended opening nights of 118 Equity productions offered by 55 producing organizations. From these openings, 96 productions were 'Jeff Recommended,' which made them eligible for award nominations. (more...)
