Concerts for City Greens Kicks Off Season, 5/30; Michael John LaChiusa, Ann Hampton Callaway and More in Lineup

Concerts for City Greens, the free outdoor concert series that brings the sounds of music to the heart of Midtown, kicks off its fifth season on Wednesday May 30 at 6:30pm at Tudor City Greens. (Rain date: Thursday May 31 at 6:30pm.) “…in the spring, becomes The Rose,” a salute to Golden Globe winner Amanda McBroom, features these special guests -- the seven-time MAC-winning singer Natalie Douglas; the MAC and Bistro Award winning singer Kevin Dozier, and the singer/songwriter and Broadway music director John DiPinto. Broadway Concerts Direct presents a new concert series in River Edge, NJ, Sarah Rice and David Vernon in HISTORY HERSTORY, Where Truth Lies, Saturday, April 28 at 8pm (doors open at 7:30pm), starring 2010 Bistro and 2011 MAC Award Winner and Broadway's Original Johanna in SWEENEY TODD, Sarah Rice, along with international recording artist, David Vernon. Following eighteen sold out shows, the hit cabaret series, SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED, will continue for an nineteenth installment, Sunday, October 30 at 7pm at The Laurie Beechman Theatre. Sondheim Unplugged is currently celebrating the second year of it's smash run, having begun this journey of celebrating Sondheim in July of 2010.
