The PYO Music Institute has announced the finalists and recipient of the 10th Annual Philadelphia Youth Orchestra Music Institute (PYOMI) Ovation Award at the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra’s 83rd Annual Festival Concert, held in Verizon Hall at The Kimmel Center on June 4, 2023.

Premiere Stages at Kean University has revealed its 2023 season, featuring multiple new plays that explore the need for human connection.

Put on your most comfortable walking shoes and be led by poet Paul Rabinowitz through Fort Tryon Park to see and hear dance, music, and poetry performed on benches, lawns, stairways, pathways, near rock faces, and under trees. The event will take place Saturday, June 3 from 3 to 5 PM (rain date: June 4).

NICKY AND THE ANGELS, a brand new 1980s-set musical, will make its world premiere at the Second Stage at the Broadwater as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival on June 3, 17 and 18.

The Fled Collective has announced complete casting for the workshop production of SWAY, written by SMJ and directed by Daniella Caggiano. Co-artistic directors Kyra Sims and Rob Neill and the award-winning New York Neo-Futurists (NYNF), a collective of writer-director-performers now in their 19th season of writing and performing original work rooted in non-fiction, announce the expanding of the ensemble with four new artists: Amelia Bethel, Brent Whiteside, Maya Carter, and Jezz Chung. These new Neo-Futurists will start working with the company immediately and will each have initial individual five-week runs in The Infinite Wrench at the Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street, NYC) now through August of 2023.

Tennessee Shakespeare Company brings the next installment of its Southern Literary Salon Series to the Tabor Stage, Truth and Beauty of Ann Patchett on Sunday, March 26 at 3:00 pm.  Patchett is the author of eight novels, four nonfiction books, and two children’s books; and she is the co-founder of Parnassus Books in Nashville. 

Pat Catterson and Molissa Fenley, two of the seminal figures in modern dance, will present a collaborative program titled Taking the Long View at The Dance Complex on Saturday and Sunday April 15-16.

Losing My Religion, a solo show written and performed by Laura Ekstrand, will be presented as a part of the United Solo Festival on March 9 at 7:00 pm at Theatre Row Theatre at 410 West 42nd Street, NYC.  The play is directed by Jason Szamreta, with lights and sound by Zach Pizza.
