TLC announced today it has renewed hit freshman series DR. PIMPLE POPPER with new episodes slated to air in January 2019. The series has ranked #1 with W25-54 in its Wednesday 10:00 p.m. time period since its premiere on July 11. TLC's hit digital series Dr. Pimple Popper: This is Zit has driven millions of views across Facebook Watch and TLC GO.

HBO has confirmed a fresh array of thought-provoking documentaries for the second half of 2018, including: Susan Lacy's JANE FONDA IN FIVE ACTS, the intimate story of an icon; Nathaniel Kahn's THE PRICE OF EVERYTHING, an insider's look at today's money-driven art world; Kate Davis and David Heilbroner's SAY HER NAME: THE LIFE AND DEATH OF SANDRA BLAND about the tragic death of a young woman who was stopped for a routine traffic violation; and Rudy Valdez's Sundance award winner THE SENTENCE, a portrait of a family in crisis.

As we approach TONY Awards weekend, we thought we'd catch up with Broadway veteran Baayork Lee, who last week proudly brought her National Asian Artists Project (NAAP) Chorus to the Lillian Booth Actors Home of The Actors Fund, in Engelwood, NJ, on Thursday, May 31. The revered Fund's Home takes care of our own in the industry, whether actor, stagehand, usher, company manager, producer, etc. The Chorus loves going there. This was their second year and, next year, they hope to go twice a year, as it's such a satisfying exchange on both sides. Among the many residents of interest are Fran Liebergall, former assistant to Marvin Hamlisch and Billy Porter's Mom, Cloerinda Ford.

The 17th Annual Tribeca Film Festival Announces Short Film Lineup With Narrative, Documentary, & Animated Shorts

The 17th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced its lineup of 55 diverse and engaging short films in competition, including 29 world premieres. The selected shorts include a cross-section of international and U.S. filmmakers and were curated from a record 4,754 submissions. For the second year running, 40% of the selections are directed by female filmmakers. The short films will be presented in 10 distinct competition programs, which consist of five narrative, three documentary, one animation, and one hybrid program. The program will also include special screenings and the 12th annual Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival, sponsored by Mohegan Sun. The Shorts Film program, sponsored by Nutella®, runs throughout the Festival, April 18-29.
