The Arvada Center will open A Christmas Carol, The Musical directed by Gavin Mayer on Tuesday, November 26 at 7:30 p.m. This Broadway rendition of a family holiday favorite will run through December 22 in the Main Stage Theater. Previews are November 22 - 24 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at 1:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Please note: There will not be a performance on Thursday, November 28 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. An additional performance has been added on Sunday, December 1 at 7:30 p.m. Talkbacks will be offered Friday, December 6 after the 7:30 p.m. show and Wednesday, December 11 after the 1:00 p.m. show. Adult ticket prices start at $53, and children's tickets are half price. The Arvada Center Artistic Producer Rod A. Lansberry and show director Gavin Mayer have announced the cast for A Christmas Carol, The Musical by Mike Ockrent & Lynn Ahrens. This big Broadway rendition of the familiar Dickens classic will run in the Main Stage Theater November 26 - December 22, 2013.

I truly appreciate that the Arvada Center gives rebirth and a newly found appreciation to these sometimes forgotten classics and hope that they continue this tradition in the future.

Camelot opens the 2013-14 Season and will run in the Main Stage Theater tonight, September 10-29, 2013. Due to high ticket demand, the Arvada Center has announced a one-week extension for the Tony Award winning musical Camelot. The show will now close on Sunday, October 6. Camelot is directed by Rod A. Lansberry, book and lyrics are written by Alan Jay Lerner, with music by Frederick Loewe. Camelot will run in the Main Stage Theater September 10- October 6, 2013. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at 1:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Talkbacks will be offered Friday, September 20 after the 7:30 p.m. show and Wednesday, September 25 after the 1:00 p.m. show. The Arvada Center Artistic Producer and Camelot show Director, Rod A. Lansberry has announced the role of Sir Lancelot will now be played by New York actor Glenn Seven Allen. Lansberry said, "The Arvada Center is proud to bring the talents of Mr. Allen to our production of Camelot and to our Arvada audiences." Allen will join the company when rehearsals begin on August 20.

The Colorado Theatre Guild's 8th Annual Henry Awards will take place Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd in Arvada, Colorado. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction. The awards ceremony will begin at 7 p.m., followed by an after-party.

The Arvada Center has announced its seven-play season of which three are regional premieres. The four musical, three play package is filled with popular titles and includes an ongoing collaboration with Creede Repertory Theatre. Subscription packages range in price from $182 to $400 and go on sale to Arvada Center subscribers and the general public on March 21. Single tickets for the 2013-14 theater season go on sale August 5. Subscribing donors giving at the $150 level or above by June 3 will receive a free guest voucher for each subscription. These vouchers can be used for theater performances in the 2013-14 season. I was so excited to see this Noel Coward classic and the Arvada Center didn't disappoint in their wonderfully executed production.
