The legendary Indian epic tale of "Ramayana" comes to life once again with Ballet Philippines' (BP) restaging of the hit pop ballet musical "Rama Hari," which runs tomorrow, November 30 until Today, December 9 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Main Theatre. The Manila Symphony Orchestra provides the live music during the performances. (more...)

Fresh off their successful auditions for the still unclear London revival production of Cameron Mackintosh's mega-musical "Miss Saigon," Rachelle Ann Go (Disney's "The Little Mermaid"), Frencheska Farr ("Emir"), and Aicelle Santos, who made it to the very final audition phase, conducted by Mackintosh's creative team - Trevor Jackson, Laurence Connor, Stephen Brooker, Geoffrey Garratt - that travelled to Manila last week, performed a medley of songs from 'Miss Saigon' in GMA's noontime musical variety show "Party Pilipinas" early today. Repertory Philippines' acclaimed production of Stephen Sondheim's 'Sweeney Todd' earned five PHILSTAGE Awards Friday night (March 26, 2010) in Manila, Philippines taking home acting honors for its lead cast Audie Gemora (Best Male Lead Performance in a Musical), Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo (Best Female Lead Performance in a Musical), Liesl Batucan (Best Female Featured Performance in a Musical), and Marvin Ong (Best Male Featured Performance in a Musical). 'Sweeney Todd's' musical director Gerard Salonga also won the Best Musical Direction award. (more...)
