Six children whose parents were on the blacklist of the 1950s will gather for a panel discussion after the Sunday, April 14, 5:00pm performance of Finks, playwright Joe Gilford's fictionalized account of his parents, Jack Gilford and Madeline Lee Gilford, and their real life experience of the blacklist, at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, 549 West 52nd Street. WB & TCM to Launch Gene Kelly, John Wayne, & Paul Newman DVD Collections

Warner Home Video (WHV) and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) are adding four new collections to their TCM Greatest Classic Films line, which spotlights Hollywood's most legendary actors and actresses in classic cinema. Available June 18, the newest additions are: TCM Greatest Classic Films: Legends - Gene Kelly, starring one of the most dominant forces in Hollywood musicals during the mid-1940s; TCM Greatest Classic Films: Legends - John Wayne Action, featuring the Academy Award winner who landed Best Actor in a Leading Role for "True Grit" in 1970 and drew some of the top box offices for decades; TCM Greatest Classic Films: Legends - Paul Newman, starring the Academy Award winner who received the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for "The Color of Money" in 1987; and TCM Greatest Classic Films: Romantic Affairs, featuring some of the silver screen's most sizzling love interests including, Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn, Carol Lombard, and Cary Grant. The Acting Company will present a staged reading of George S. Kaufman and Ring Lardner's 1929 hit musical June Moon filled with fun, frolic and hit songs such as Button Up Your Overcoat. Tony-winner John Rando (Urinetown, The Dinner Party, The Wedding Singer) will direct Kaufman's great grandson, James Patrick Cronin (Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival and National Comedy Theatre) and a cast of Broadway regulars including six Acting Company Alums at the Mainstage Theater at Playwrights Horizons at 7pm, Monday, January 24. Tickets for the benefit evening are $35 and $60 and include a reception with the cast following the performance.

John Lithgow Lives Stories by Heart

Only an actor of the calibre of John Lithgow - who remains a class act after almost 40 years in the theatre - could mount the very simplistic Stories by Heart on the large Taper stage. Ideal for a smaller, more intimate venue, Stories becomes more than a retelling of two classic tales, one by P.G. Wodehouse and the other by American journalist Ring Lardner. In the hands of Lithgow the art of storytelling is put on a pedestal. We all know how vital it is to a child's education, but it can truly enrich one's life, regardless of age, and, in fact, it has been proven to encourage, nurture and increase the quality of the very process of living. Quite a feat! Well, Lithgow, self described exuberant actor, makes it ebulliently unfold.
