Joshua Brand & John Falsey to Receive 2013 WGAW Television Laurel Award

Veteran television writing partners Joshua Brand & John Falsey, who've co-created such acclaimed hit series as Northern Exposure, St. Elsewhere, and I'll Fly Away, are set to receive the Writers Guild of America, West's 2013 Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award for Television, honoring lifetime achievement in outstanding television writing. Steve is no stranger to theater and his unique New Jersey shore tradition of "Dinner and a Show". Having been the artistic director of the Surflight Theater in Beach Haven, NJ for years, Steve has enjoyed 25 years of great theater and sharing this with audiences and local business as well.

Today in 1972, the first Broadway revival of Man of La Mancha opened at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre, where it ran for 140 performances. Man of La Mancha is a musical with a book by Dale Wasserman, lyrics by Joe Darion and music by Mitch Leigh. It is adapted from Wasserman's non-musical 1959 teleplay I, Don Quixote, which was in turn inspired by Miguel de Cervantes's seventeenth century masterpiece Don Quixote. It tells the story of the 'mad' knight, Don Quixote, as a play within a play, performed by Cervantes and his fellow prisoners as he awaits a hearing with the Spanish Inquisition.The original 1965 Broadway production ran for 2,328 performances and won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The musical has been revived four times on Broadway, becoming one of the most enduring works of musical theatre. (more...)

Full Cast Announced for Encores! PIPE DREAM

Casting is complete for Rodgers and Hammerstein's Pipe Dream, the second Encores! production of the 2011-12 season, running March 28 - April 1. Pipe Dream will be directed by Marc Bruni with music direction by Rob Berman and choreography by Kelli Barclay.
