Florida Studio Theatre (FST) announces the lineup for its virtual event on August 20, 2020, celebrating the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage. Award-winning journalist Charlayne Hunter-Gault, City of Sarasota Mayor Jen Ahearn-Koch, and Suffragist Project Director Kate Alexander will each speak at the theatre's special online celebration, along with a slate of talented artists.

The Personal History of David Copperfield leads the list of nominations for the 2019 British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs), announced this morning by British actors Naomi Ackie and Joe Cole at the Regent Street Cinema. Armando Iannucci's fresh take on Dickens' novel about the ups and downs in the life of its eponymous character is recognised for Best British Independent Film and Best Screenplay sponsored by BBC Films, amongst nine other awards. Dev Patel is nominated for Best Actor, with co-stars Tilda Swinton and Hugh Laurie competing in the respective Supporting categories. The film also features heavily in the technical categories with nominations for Best Casting sponsored by Casting Society of America & Spotlight, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Editing sponsored by Intermission Film, Best Make Up & Hair Design sponsored by MAC Cosmetics and Best Production Design sponsored by Studio Juice.

Currently starring in The Girl on the Train, an adaptation of Paul Hawkins' 2015 novel, Womack plays Rachel, a functioning alcoholic. The show has been touring the UK and is now in the Duke of York's Theatre for a limited run. Following the success of Free Solo, which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature earlier this week, National Geographic Documentary Films announces the greenlight of its next feature project. The upcoming film, which will document the dramatic 2018 rescue of a Thai soccer team trapped deep inside a flooding cave, is from Academy Award-winning director Kevin Macdonald (“One Day in September”), Emmy-winning producer John Battsek (“Manhunt: The Story of Bin Laden,” “One Day in September”), producer P.J. van Sandwijk (“American Dharma”) and executive producer Michael Lesslie (“Little Drummer Girl”).
Harris Center Pianist Richard Glazier Debuts New CD

He's performed at Carnegie Hall four times, as well as the United Nations and the Smithsonian Institute, and pianist Richard Glazier is no stranger to the Harris Center stage. He returns to Folsom in March to perform two special concerts celebrating the release of his new recording, Pure Imagination - Great Songs from the Stage and Screen, which was recorded at the Harris Center in summer 2018. Featuring popular songs from the Great American Songbook, such as "People," "Stardust," "Send in the Clowns," "I've Got a Crush on You," the recording features soprano Robin Fisher, who will join Mr. Glazier on stage. "Relaxed, tender and carefully voiced" (New York Times), "Richard Glazier's thoughtful performance captures his intimate charm with suppleness and sensitivity" (Fanfare). On Monday, March 4 at 6:30pm the medieval court of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table will come to life on the stage of the Vivian Beaumont Theater when Lin-Manuel Miranda stars as King Arthur in Lerner & Loewe's CAMELOT, directed by Bartlett Sher, for a one-night-only concert event to benefit Lincoln Center Theater. He will be joined by Solea Pfeiffer as Guenevere, Jordan Donica as Sir Lancelot, Dakin Matthews as Merlyn, Ruthie Ann Miles as Nimue, Ethan Slater as Mordred, Julie White as Morgan Le Fey, and Jenn Colella, Jason Danieley, and Bonnie Milligan as three of the Knights of the Round Table. Andy & Betsy Kenny Lack, Brooke & Daniel Neidich, and Caryn Zucker are the Benefit Co-Chairs. Proceeds from the evening will support Lincoln Center Theater's productions and education programs.

One of the most intriguing pop music partnerships of the eighties makes it's return – RICK WRIGHT, one of the founder members of PINK FLOYD and who played keyboards on their multi-million selling albums joined forces with DAVE (formerly DEE) HARRIS, best known to music fans as the former singer and guitarist with electro-funk band Fashion. The two, collectively known as ZEE's version of their album, IDENTITY is to be released this year. The album which was recorded at Wright's home studio and Utopia Studios in North London in 82 / 83, utilizes the Fairlight Computer, which has the ability to recreate the sound of any musical instrument.
